I was just thinking about getting one of those small potted trees (really just a big potted plant) at the nursery . . . just for something to have around the house. I didnt succumb last night when I stopped by Home Depot but I am still thinking about it.

Of course, I'd probably spend most of my time protecting it from the cats . . . hehe, I have one that is a superb jumper . . . she knocked one of my Turkish coffee pots off the top of my entertainment center along with one of the pumpkin candles (ok, halloween stuff left over) . . . she must have used the TV as a launching point and was going after a moth I think!! Just happy she missed the ceramic plate I brought back from Turkey . . . it was a bit more expensive than that coffee pot which just bounced!!

;)

My sister has to have guidewires on her tree because she has 4 cats and every year if she doesn't put up the wires, the cats topple the tree.

Don't you just love the little monsters sometimes!? :P

The potted tree I am thinking about buying is probably smaller than the length of my cats . . .. I have scratching posts that are taller, LOL . . . my cats are Maine Coons and the biggest one has a very long stretch on him!!!

Well, if my husband was here for christmas, we would celebrate, not for religous reason but because its fun. He doesnt mind the tree and the gifts and the whole idea about "christmas".

But the aint gonna be here so "BAH HUMBUG!"

Hopefully I can be there with him tho.

Pray with me Forrest! Dear God, make me a bird so I can fly far. Far, far away from here..... Dear God, make me a bird so I can fly far. Far, far away from here!

If I didn't have my son, I wouldn't even think about putting up a tree...I love the songs and the fun of gifts and great food but I HATE DECORATING!

I'm debating on whether or not I wanna go through the trouble of putting up a tree. Mohamed is not here so he really has no say so in the matter. As far as gifts...I do not give them to my children but I do exchange gifts/cards with family and friends who do celebrate Christmas. Mohamed doesn't seem to have a prob. with this but again..he's not here so...

No, no christmas tree. I have a few snowmen that I put out as winter decorations, but those come out at the first snow and are put away when the final snow melts.

Don't feel much like reading all 3 pages of posts, sorry, but thought I'd put my imput in.

We both celebrate christmas, but without the christian backround. We like the lights, and so we'll be putting some up this year. As for the tree, we haven't decided yet. We have a small apartment and a very rambunkcious(sp?) cat, plus if we do get a tree I have no idea where we will put it or what we will decorate it with. But if we do get one, it will probably be one of the tiny ones you get at Target that are fresh/potted trees thay come with the decorations. We'll see though.

Well my darlin isn't here yet either but Christmas is something we've discussed a lot. He wants to celebrate it as a holiday of love and caring and have all the trimmings. When I was in Egypt with him he wanted to drag a tree into our little room so badly but it just wasn't an easy thing to do. We both enjoy the glow with the crass commercialism of the holiday and I'm hoping to be able to celebrate another one with him.... SOME DAY.

ok, it's official - i bought a fresh wreath yesterday and put it up outside the door so i can smell it coming in and out of the house. that's my holiday decoration (singular, not decoration*s*). I did talk to Said this weekend abt his thoughts on it and he doesn't mind if we have a tree or decorations or whatever and we'll probably exchange small gifts since finances will be tight. But, yes, definitely doing the family thing - if he's here! I'm kinda hoping there'll be a small wedding taking place around that time as well! ;)

Interesting poll. Looks like I'm the only scrooge not putting up a tree.

Jackie

I'm not either, but that's because I'm not into decorations, I leave it all up to my mom. She lives a few minutes away, so I can enjoy it when I go over. My husband LOVES Christmas. Because of the presents. When he first came here 15 years ago, he couldn't believe his luck there was this great holiday for exchanging gifts, lol! He's also a clothes horse and shopaholic so the sales for him are the greatest thing on earth.

How can one claim God cares to judge a fornicator over judging a lying, conniving bully? I guess you would if you are the lying, conniving bully.

the long lost pillar: belief in angels

she may be fat but she's not 50

"poisoned by a jew" sounds like a Borat song

If you bring up the truth, you're a PSYCHOPATH, life lesson #442.

There went another 50 dollars for nuttin. I HATE surround sound......he said... this will be the last of our christmas gifts for each other...(i already got a laptop and he got a really nice camera) I was like..well, oooooooooooook...I'm still gonna get him something small for christmas day wether he wants me to or not...
