Thank you well I guess we got our first notification.they really need to look into this whole process as too many people receive rfe`s .it's either they need to be more clearer on what they need to begin with,or make it seem less overwhelming so people people forget things

It is very stupid, it confuses people every single week. Try do a search for "Two RFEs" and you'll see that this topic is posted all the time. I guess it would be too much to ask the USCIS to have a first notice saying, "We have decided to mail you an RFE" and another one which says, "Your RFE has been mailed" and "here is your tracking number". Who knows how long it is before it actually gets placed in mailbox. Someone here had stated that his friend worked for the USCIS and said that it all depends when the "assistant" gets the actual RFE mailed, how's that for efficiency? What if the assistant is sick or on vacation? Some people get their hard copy in a few days from the second notice, I have seen others wait over a week. Pray that you are one of the lucky ones and don't waste time sending it back if you want it processed quicker. Many send it back Express Mail or FedEx/UPS overnight. I tracked mine to make sure they got it, even if it cost me $$$.

I just recieved by email and text message that I have been sent a RFE today. I'm so excited because at least now I know that the paperwork is being processed. But also nervous, I sent photos of us together (here in the USA and Mexico), a copy of my passport, and copies of my airline tickets. What sort of evidence do I need? Does this mean there is a problem? I don't know whether to laugh or cry.ClockWatch2.gif

So I just checked our status for our petion .and it says on June 5th they mailed us a RFE. Does that mean it was actually sent out in the mail June 5th.as if so I guess we could expect it any day.as we are at the California office and my fiance address is in california also.

Just kind of nervous as to what it could be .hope it's something simple.my fiance just said that he may have forgotten to date the back of the photos he sent, could this be it? Also when it came to photo evidence they where mostly print outs from online(Facebook photo albums etc) do they see print outs as a problem? Do they only accept original photos?

Also once we have mailed them back and they are satisfied.on average how long does it take to get a approval after that?

Sorry you received a RFE but the good news is that you will most likely be approved soon. Our first RFE notification was sent on Apr. 25 and the second on Apr. 30th that they actually mailed the document. We had a lawyer so that delayed everything for us getting our reply sent in. As for the photos, that was part of the reason for our RFE, many of the photos were not date stamped by the camera but we also believe that they lost our evidence. There are a few posts on the forums (you may need to do some searching) on how to add the date stamp to the digital photos which is what we did. The program just looks at the date stamp which is embedded in every digital photo and adds that to the photos for printing.

My photos didn't have a date stamp, but I made sure that I listed who was in the photo and exactly where it was taken. The photos coincided with airline boarding stubs and passport stamps. If you feel it may help, here is the link on how to add dates to your photos. I used the Photoscape becaues it takes he file info and then allows you to stamp the date, it's not faking, just printing exactly when the photo was taken. I will use this for the embassy interview evidence. http://www.ehow.com/how_7839700_add-time-stamp-digital-photo.html

Thank you for info/tips everyone.I guess till we get that hard copy we won't know for sure what it is they want.but it must be something minor as there isn't anything that could cause difficulties in anyway.both never married,no criminal records etc .I'm taking a wild guess as they want more primary evidence that we have met in person in last two years..(just going off what others on here got rfe for and what they had originally sent) we didn't have passport stamps, stubs etc when we sent our application as my fiance was based here in England til end of March.I have since visited him once In california so now I have passport stamp/stub.if that's what they are going to need.I also have visitor forms with both our names the date and location.that I needed for when I went on air force base with him here in England.kind of kicking myself that we didn't send those visitor forms to begin with now.as it states on the form that my fiance was my escort on base
