So I just checked our status for our petion .and it says on June 5th they mailed us a RFE. Does that mean it was actually sent out in the mail June 5th.as if so I guess we could expect it any day.as we are at the California office and my fiance address is in california also.

Just kind of nervous as to what it could be .hope it's something simple.my fiance just said that he may have forgotten to date the back of the photos he sent, could this be it? Also when it came to photo evidence they where mostly print outs from online(Facebook photo albums etc) do they see print outs as a problem? Do they only accept original photos?

Also once we have mailed them back and they are satisfied.on average how long does it take to get a approval after that?

yeah just watch out for your mail then.. RFE's could be anything so just relax and wait until you have the paper on hand.. I have 2 sets of pictures that I sent.. one of them was copy/paste in Microsoft word with dates and locations written on the sides and the other one I gave them my whole photo album with the original pictures (LOL!), showing pictures of us from 2004 to 2013.. and they are a lot so I didn't write down locations and dates on each photo.. instead, on each side of the photo, that's where I wrote the details about each picture.. I hope I don't get an RFE because of that.. anyway, that is how my 2 friends did and they got approved with NO RFE's.. One of them even had her photo albums returned to her after her petition was approved coz it was 2 albums like more than 200-300 pictures I think.. LoL

My RFE was a letter intent to marry from both my fiancé and I. So I will not worry because it might a simply and easy to fix. It took 3 days for me to get the letter in the mail from the date they put on their website. I am still waiting for my NOA2.....

I'm not too worried,it's frustrating more than anything as if they already had what they are now requesting,we could have our approval right now instead of rfe.

Does anyone know what the average time line is from them receiving whatever they are requesting to a approval?

Theres general guesstimate timelines out there. When did they recieve your package/when did you get your NOA1?

You can use your timeline, and that can give you a guesstimate on that...if it helps, we got our NOA1 earlier this month, and the guesstimate is mid october. BUT....that is just til NOA2...not the whole process. The whole process depends also on your local consulate, medical, etc etc.

Prepare yourself, this is NOT a quick process. It could be worse...but...

http://www.visajourney.com/content/times there's a link for processing times. Results may vary.

Oh, sorry, my bad.

That I couldn't tell you - I guess it all depends on how they feel at the processing centre, how "bad" the RFE was, how long it'll take you guys to clarify.

Hopefully it won't hoop you too much. Either way, it's just a minor speed bump in a long road trip...I wonder if the timeline has a way of re-adjusting the guesstimate if you have RFEs?

There are usually two notices of RFE, one when they decide to do an RFE, and one when they actually mail it. They both say the same thing, that it "has been mailed", but the first one really doesn't mean it was actually mailed. Lots of people get confused because they get two notices or their RFE dates change, this is why.

As for the average time to get NOA2 after the RFE is received, it varies from a few days to even over a month. There have been some members who got it in two days, I would guess the average that I have seen by reviewing Igor's list is about 2 weeks. Good luck with your RFE!

Well that's kind of of stupid lol.does this happen to everyone?.and how long from when they first say they have mailed it out,do they actually Decide to mail it?

It is very stupid, it confuses people every single week. Try do a search for "Two RFEs" and you'll see that this topic is posted all the time. I guess it would be too much to ask the USCIS to have a first notice saying, "We have decided to mail you an RFE" and another one which says, "Your RFE has been mailed" and "here is your tracking number". Who knows how long it is before it actually gets placed in mailbox. Someone here had stated that his friend worked for the USCIS and said that it all depends when the "assistant" gets the actual RFE mailed, how's that for efficiency? What if the assistant is sick or on vacation? Some people get their hard copy in a few days from the second notice, I have seen others wait over a week. Pray that you are one of the lucky ones and don't waste time sending it back if you want it processed quicker. Many send it back Express Mail or FedEx/UPS overnight. I tracked mine to make sure they got it, even if it cost me $$$.
