Montreal interview scheduled for Dec 22

Got my letter in the mail for my interview date scheduled for Dec 22.

I really think it will be best for me to reschedule.

For one I still haven't had my baby - I have a induction set for next Wednesday.

So some time between having a new baby and the 22nd I would have to get into Winnipeg to get my medical done.

I really don't want to be travelling with a 3 week old baby to Montreal the Friday before Christmas.

Plus I have to find out for sure if the baby will need it's proof of US citizenship (Proof of Birth Abroad or Passport) before I can get my visa. I don't even think I will have the baby's Manitoba Birth certificate by then to apply and then we would have to make a trip out to Calgary to apply at the consulate there.

Just way too much for a new first time mommie to try to get organized in three weeks.

Does anyone have the Montreal Embassy phone # off hand? I'm sure it's on here somewhere - I'll do some digging.

Congratulations...you are almost there!! I think we PM'd before but just in case:

I had to reschedule my interview since it was planned for my due date. I ended up taking my 6 week old son to Montreal...but I didn't have to have his birth certificate...what I did bring was his proof of birth letter from the hospital and a letter from my phyician stating who my son's parents were. I also had a copy of the letter from the city where I had registered his birth. These all had my fiance's name on them as the father.

I was told at my interview to just make sure I had his birth certificate when I crossed the border and I took care of the rest from the US.

Good luck...I had my fiance call and reschedule, for some reason MTL listened and were more reasonable with him than with me, but that could have been from all of my hormones!!

Good luck!!
