Hello

Does the applicant in F2A category need to pay Immigrant Fee for GC after getting visa and before entering US??? I was going through NVC website to know more about interview preparation and I came across with this information at the bottom of this page: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3744.html

I didn't see F2A in the list that doesn't need to pay this fee. So I am wondering?????

Yes, we need to pay that before we fly to the US. That fee is per applicant, so if you have derivative children, you will pay $165 per child.

Ok I thought the money we paid for processing I-864 and DS230 were enough for the whole things. Why is there less privilege for Permanent Resident??? H1B can bring their spouse within few months but PRs have to wait almost 3 years??? ranting33va.gif

Anyway, thanks

That's what I am saying people with temporary visa can bring their spouse as early as possible but PRs have to wait years. Isn't that sounds wired?
