This is a fairly simple question, but I can't seem to find a proper answer for it ...

What is the best way to find US jobs which also sponsor H-1B Visas ?

Yeah, I know that you can look at the past year's data, regarding which companies sponsored how many H-1B Visas, etc ... But that doesn't really tell you about the currently available jobs that do have the H-1B sponsorship option ..

Isn't there a central website, or forum, or something, where most if not all of H-1B sponsoring jobs are posted ?

Searching for individual jobs on normal US based job searching sites isn't really efficient because you can't really tell if the jobs comes with H-1B sponsorship or not ..

There isn't a central website.

I remember seeing one job site (maybe monster or indeed?) that allows you to tick a box for job search filtering "I will need sponsorship". But of course not all jobs would be listed there, and some employers may not tick that box because they do not want to be innundated with requests.

I think you're misunderstanding process a bit - there are no jobs that come with sponsorship. There are jobs posted - if a suitable candidate requires sponsorship and company is willing to that, it will. Remember they need to make sure they do not have somebody available locally. You won't see a posting that explicitly says "Included H-1B sponsorship".

Also - be aware that earliest time one can get H-1B visa is October 2014. Cap for this year's was met after just a few days and is gone.

If you did, it would be a scam.

I don't understand. Why Oct 2014 ? Isn't the quota reset every April/May ?

Also, do you mean to say I shouldn't even apply for jobs now ? If yes, then when should I start applying then ?

If you did, it would be a scam.

Not sure what you were referring to there exactly ..

It is reset every April - you appy April 1st, visas are issued October 1st. Ones that will be given out October 2013 were gone in 5 days and they took so many applications (more than visas available) that they had to do a lottery.

You can apply whenever you want, just be aware of the visa (un)availability and associated timing.

Hmm ... Okay so I assume it will be the company that files the H-1B on 1st April, right ?

So if thats the case, the next time visas are filled are on 1st April 2014 ..

So if I'm aiming for 1st April 2014, by when should I actively start applying around ?

Correct. When do you need to apply - no idea. Don't think there is recipe for that.

Your Employer applies, you just need a job, like applying as you would normally, but with a company that will also sponsor and wait.

No job posting will come with any indication as to whether it is considered for H1B sponsorship.

The best route is for you to apply for posted jobs compatible with your resume and include a disclaimer you would need a temporary working visa, in order to accept any offers. Each employer will decide if your qualifications make you a desirable enough asset to justify their starting the application process.

Good luck!

Every employer has a little different way of application, some of the employer would post in the ad itself if they can sponsor the candidate or they cannot.

Some employer would just accept your application and would ask you to fill out the form later on which would have a question if you can work legally in US and for a particular employer or any employer or something like would you need a sponsorship if they offered you the job.

There is no particular time when you should apply, it would all depend on your skillset, availability of resources with the similar skillset in American market etc.

most H1b visas are issued to "job shops" that take the slots on basis of projected job openings. they usually don't really tie to any specific job. the job shop then tries to sell you once you get here. it is a big scam, as you may never have a real job in such scenarios.

They have started to curb this practice, they have started hitting the job shops with requirements like end client contracts - employe, employer contracts etc.

Even for MNCs its been getting difficult to get ppl on inter-transfer (L1)

Usually you are more likely to see jobs with : GC or US citizenship required. Any job that DOES NOT have that requirement is technically open to sponsorship of H1 if the company is willing to do so. The GC and US citizenship ones usually require security clearance and requesting that from USCIS is a pain for a foreigner.
