Relocate to India when on CR-1 greencard

I have a CR-1 greencard. And its not 2 years to remove the conditions. Me and my Husband are thinking of relocating to India temporarily and then come back here. Can the conditions be removed during our stay in India? If I stay in India for next 1 year i.e during the CR-1 period of 2 years will i retain the greencard or will it be abandoned?

You need to be in the USA to file for removal of conditions, take the biometrics and possible interview.

You will need to file for a re-entry permit if you are out of the country for that long.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

You must be physically in the U.S. when filing the I-751 even if you are residing abroad and will have to do Biometrics (fingerprinting) too. While you can live temporarily abroad, any absence over 180 days is suspect. Any absence of 365 days can trigger an abandonment charge. I would talk to an immigration lawyer to seek specific advice.
