Well I just got back from my deployment in November of last year. I'm due to separate in November of this year so I'm not sure if that will have any effect. Can you expedite this any other way? I don't have any medical issues, but just wondering if there's something else the military can do to expedite it. Thanks for the info.

The USCIS website has the exact criteria for expedite request. I recommend looking at the requirements and see if you can think outside the box. I justified my expedite since my daughter has severe asthma attacks. She had to go to the ER a few months ago since she could not breathe. I said it was a cost burden for Tricare/Department of Defense to pay the out of network claims overseas. I estimated the man hours at Tricare to process an overseas insurance claim. I translated those man hours into dollars and added the cost of the medical bills. I said it would be cheaper for the government to have them here and she can breathe the cleaner air in my location in rural Maryland. Plus the care in the United States is better.

You may need to get your local congressman or senator's office involved. My congressman's assistant submitted an inquiry to the MSC on a Friday afternoon. A USCIS supervisor called me on my cell phone Monday afternoon to let me know she will process the expedite as soon as I fax a copy of my military orders to her. My petitions were approved a week later.

You can type "military expedite" in the VJ search box to get some ideas of what other military folks used to justify their requests.

I filed at the end of January and found out my case was transferred to the local office in Las Vegas so I made an Info-Pass to inquire about their processing times. Anyway, from NOA1 to NOA2 it was 90 days... which is fast! http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/424987-las-vegas-office-i-130-timeframe/?hl=%2Blas+%2Bvegas+%2Boffice#entry6155889 This is my experience at the office....
