Question Regarding Visa's for Family

Sorry guys, I was just hoping someone else may have gone through this and have some advice. We have our interview date set for July 15th, and are getting married in the US on Aug 8th. I am wondering if anyone else has applied for tourist visas for thier families to attend the wedding, and what information, justification, or explanation they gave when applying. We want them to apply in advance to attend the wedding, but technically, we won't have the visa until 2 weeks before, I'm afraid they will apply and get rejected without visa in hand. Should be apply for tourist visas and omit the wedding?

Thanks!

I would say that it might be "easier" to apply for the tourist visa for your parents and state that the main reason is for them to attend your wedding (assuming your parents are elderly and not employed/retired). However, I am not so sure if you can do the same for your siblings especially if they are adults. They would need to apply for the tourist visas on their own and prove to the Consulate Officer that they are eligible and qualified to receive a visa, meaning they would need to prove ties to home country, have stable employment, etc. Under normal circumstances, they would not be able to receive a visa if they cannot satisfy the CO even though they are invited to your wedding.

Something to consider.

Do you have any kind of wedding invite/card? If you do, then your parents/family should be able to apply for a tourist visa without a problem. As long as they can show ties to their home country ie bank account, home loans, home ownership etc. -- I don't see why they would be rejected. if they apply now, they'd have the visa in time to attend your wedding (granted they get approved of course).
