I never heard of it as "Black Friday" til this year. Anyway, I've discovered ONLINE Black Friday. I hate shopping, but it's a good day to buy my MacBook for 101 dollars off. Woohoo.

eta: To buy it at apple.com, NOT at the store. NO WAY are you getting me into a store today.

I wanted to get a $250 laptop from BestBuy so I drove to 23rd and 6th at 4:30am

last night, thinking I would be the only person crazy enough to be there at 4am.

When I got there, I saw about a thousand people standing in line. Insane. I then

drove uptown to 86th and Lexington, hoping that all those bargain hunters from Brooklyn

and New Jersey wouldn't go that far. Same #######.

I gave up and went home. :(

The local news last night showed people in tents waiting in line for sales this morning. You couldn't pay me enough!

I was up early today to go to work for an hour (don't ask, ugh), and went to two stores far away from the malls, that was enough for me!

I am seriously considering taking a day off during the week to do the rest of my Christmas shopping without dealing with crowds in the malls on the weekends. :(

My mom and I went out this morning but left the house at 430....none of this waiting all nite biz....430 is early enough!

I don't usually do black friday, but there were a few things we've been holding out on that were on at a good price. So this was our first one where we set out so early. D and I went last year normal time, and there was nowt left

Mom and I went to an obscurely located Office Depot so there were no real hassles.

The queue for Circuit City and Best Buy were literally around the stores at 430....parking lots were FULL. I couldn't believe it. Then we went to Kohls cos I wanted a coffeepot, and the queues...omG they were winding throughout the whole store. Seriously...people in the aisles in the back of the store! I kept looking at what everyone was buying...like wondering what the big dealio was, and tbh, I still don't understand.....people were holding blankets, clothes, stuffed animals....and imo the prices weren't that good to warrant such a wait.

But I'm happy that we went......I slept all day cos I was so tired!

I refuse to pertisipate in this racist event. LOL

We ended up going out this afternoon, since we needed Christmas lights. So we went to the local small strip mall. I got some clothes and we found 2 of the last 4 gifts on our Christmas list. So not too bad for 90 minutes.

I'll still never do the early morning one though. ;)

DH wanted one of those laptops but I persuaded him that he didn't really want to spend all night standing out the front of Best Buy in the hopes of getting one! He hates shopping, so he wasn't hard to persuade...

I looked at the catalogues online and didn't see anything worth trying to get there before 10am - all the things I'm interested in are on sale all weekend, so we'll hit a few stores tomorrow on Errand Day and see what we can get.
