First of all, congrats on the visa! smile.png

But I have a few questions if you don't mind...just curious, why did your fiancee did the interview in Rio if she's from SP and there's a consulate there?

And did she see a doctor in rio or sp? Do you know the name of the doc?

I'm still waiting for my NOA2, but I live in SP.

Thanks!

mines lives in SP too.. only rio gives k1 visas.

Really? I remember that one of the forms had the option to put the consulate you wanted to get your package sent to. But maybe the interviews aren't there then.

Thank you, that's valuable information!

All K-1 visas are processed and interviewed at the Rio de Janeiro consulate so everyone must go there for the interview. There are 2 doctors in SP that are certified to do the medical exams. I am not sure which one my fiancee went to but I will ask her tomorrow. Good Luck and Best Wishes.

ahhh congrats! are interivew is july9 in rio!!! how was the experiance, did they seem nice and what were some of the interview questions? Im confused thought my girl lives in SP and she said she got her police records online? Your sayin you have to get them in person?

Yes you can get your records online but sometimes there is a glitch in the system and you must report to the Policia Federal to get the document. If your fiancee got both documents online then thank your lucky stars!! Good Luck at the interview. It's all about the documentation.

"SECRETARIA DE SEGURANÇA PÚBLICA" - It is required that the applicant obtain a certificate from the Polícia Técnico Científica, Instituto de Identificação from each state in Brazil where the applicant has resided for 6 (six) months or longer for the last 5 (five) years. If you have resided in more than one state in Brazil, during this period, you will need one for each state.

Since you have lived in the same state in Brazil for the last 10 years, and the way I understand the rule, you only have to "go back" 5 years, so your present state should be fine.

Thank you! :)

Thank you very much, really.

This topic was an eye opener for me, i'm one of those "lucky" people who lived in a different state of Brazil in the past 5 years, and i'll have to travel to get the police records certificate. The tricky part is that the certificate takes 10-15 days to be ready and expires in 30 days, so I can't do anything until I know the interview date. :-/

so happy for you!!! Congrats!!!!

Can you really get your medical exam before they set an interview date? Id like to do that.

Congtrats, I read on the embassys website in rio in bold not to schedule the medical until the interview has been scheduled.
