Do the RCMP email any confirmation they received application for police clearance?

I mailed out my application for my Canadian police clearance to the relevant RCMP address back in the beginning of April.

I know it takes 18 weeks to complete, but do they contact me to let me know they received it in the mail? as i posted it from the United Kingdom, and it did contain a cheque for the required fee.

Any thought on this? I hope they received it, as i have already been waiting for 9 weeks. Just not sure if they usually send out an email of confirmation they received it.

I did check their website, but they do not give any information on this, only that it takes 18 weeks to complete. However when sending something internationally that takes a long time, it would be appreciated to know that it has been received, as if i have to submit it over again, i am going to be set back by another 10 weeks! as its going to take at least a week to get it in the mail. I am just really nervous about this, and i am not sure who to contact to find out if they received it. unsure.png

There is an email address on this page http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cr-cj/app-dem-eng.htm " How do I verify the status of my application ".

You can try using that to find out your status and information.

I just phoned them, but it was automated answer machine. So i left a message asking if they had received it, with my name and date of birth, plus my email address. I didnt leave my telephone number as i am outside of Canada. I am sure they already have my telephone number and email address on the application i sent. Hopefully they will get back to me soon!!

I moved your topic from K-1 forums to the Canada forums since your dealing with a Canada specific agency, maybe someone else will have ideas for you if mine didn't work.

Seems totally redundant for them to have an email to check the status if they don't even respond to you.

After already giving them this information 3 times - twice by email, and once over the phone on their automated answerphone, today i received an email from the RCMP saying the following:

Good day

Please provide your date of birth, complete mailing address along with the proper spelling of your name in order to continue searching within our systems for your application.

CFSS processes more than 15,000 criminal record searches each month. The processing times for applications will vary depending on whether or not an individuals fingerprints can be associated to a criminal holding maintained by the RCMP. For those that are associated and or a manual review must take place, the process can take in excess of one hundred and twenty (120) days. For those that are not associated the processing time is significantly less. For further information on processing times please visit our website.

Thank you for contacting us

So once again i will send them the information i have already sent them 3 times in order to track my application! This is just getting stupid now!

I have already been waiting for confirmation for over a month. And how many times do they need me to submit my full name, date of birth and address in order to track it? wacko.png I even gave them my email address and date it was submitted. What more do they need?! And all 3 times i used the "proper spelling"! wow.gif

I am in the same position. After much tooing and froing about payment methods plus living in scotland so no official place to get fingerprints done leading to a trip to Newcastle.

I after having to resend my email with 'proper spelling' they replied to say that they didn't have me on record but that didnt mean that my application wasn't in the building.

This is the only document that I dont have and I have now had our petition approved this is going to delay the whole process :-(

I have emailed them again but not even the automated reply back. I am going to visit my partner and am now considering popping up to Vancouver to go to one of these affiliates to get electronic prints done. I wouldnt mind if some of them didnt look so dodgy with only a hotmail email contact and an address that appears to be in a resedential area.

Well sorry for delay in updating but just as the 26 weeks were up they finally had it 'brought into the building' It was processed and returned two days later.

At least we have it and didnt have to spend anymore money on it.
