This is something I've been wondering/ worrying about, and hopefully some of you can help me with this.

Although it's hard to determine how long it'll take for a visa to be approved, or whether it'll be approved at all, I've seen that the CSC has been pretty fast as of late. All our documents for our K1 visa have been received by the end of May, we got an e-mail with our case number but we're still waiting on our hard copy of the NOA.
We thought that if everything went right, we would have met again and married by next year -which seemed plausible- but we didn't think about him and his tax returns/ affidavit of support documents (him being the US citizen and me being the beneficiary).

He's been working full time since March, will file for taxes by the start of next year and this is his very first job, so no tax returns for the previous years.

However, he has pay stubs and could ask his boss to write down a letter stating for how long he's been working for his company, how much he's making and his position. His mom said she'd co-sponsor me, given we'd need a sponsor. Now, if we get our NOA2 by the end of the year and he doesn't have his tax return papers in hand yet, would we be denied solely because he doesn't have enough proof he could support me financially? Would we be able to make it with a co-sponsor? Some people said co-sponsors aren't allowed by all embassies, and we know that who ever will sponsor me must make 125% of the poverty guidelines. Also, would he need to write down why he didn't file for taxes or would people just ask me at the embassy?

The instructions of form I-134 has a list of documents that can be used as a proof of income resources, but I'm not too sure how many we'd need.

Also what if he doesn't have some of the things listed (such as life insurance)? Do we just leave it blank? Write down 0? And how exactly do you know how much your personal property is valued? What about real estate? If you live in an apartment and have to pay for rent, I assume that's another 0 to write down...

I'm so sorry for writing so much. Just hope everything is clear and someone might be able to help me.

Maybe I'm just worrying too much, but I want to make sure everything will go fine.

Thanks to everyone in advance!

The consulate of Naples seems to be more concerned about the petitioner's current income rather than the past one. Bring a letter of his employer stating his position and his salary, the most recent pay stubs, a copy of his contract and any other document that can prove he makes more than the poverty level and can support you. During my interview I was not even asked for the tax returns. For the personal properties we just did an estimate of the value of all the things my fiance owns and that he can prove he owns (i.e. the car). For the rest we had to put a lot of zeroes too! Check my reply to another topic concerning the co-sponsor. I hope it can be of some help.

Thank you so much! I am forever grateful to anyone who can help me a little, especially people who went to the same consulate and may guide me. We both just want to make sure we're doing everything right. Again, thank you!

If you are not using assets, you can leave that section blank. No need to fill in 0's.
