I read that the police cert is 150 baht plus 50 baht to mail but my wife thinks it's more like 1000/200. As far as medical goes, she thinks it might be about 5000 and I have no idea.

November 27, 2012 - Married
February 01, 2013 - Mailed I-130 for wife and step kids
February 04, 2013 - Delivered to Phoenix Lock Box
February 08, 2013 - NOA1

May 28, 2013 - InfoPass at Dallas Field Office - Case assigned to an officer and now on her desk to be worked

June 01, 2013 - NOA2 for my wife but the kids had an RFE issued. (day 54 from NOA1)

June 01, 2013 - December 19, 2013 - Case "lost" at the Dallas Field Office
December 19, 2013 - mailed to NVC
January 08, 2014 - NVC received case
February 06, 2014 - NVC assigned case numbers

I just talked to the police about these fees and you are correct from what they told me. I am helping someone with a case and found they now have people deposit the fees in an account set up for this. This is a fairly new procedure.

The medical does cost about what she thinks from what I have seen lately and I think that is what I paid as well. The good thing is its done very well and finished in one afternoon so she will leave with docs she needs.

We just had this done.

The medical was 2,100 + 2,500 for the immunizations.

We paid 1,500 for police report. Got it in about a week. The girlfriend said she was told she did not have to pay, but if she did not, she could expect the report in about 6 weeks. She had to go pick it up they would not mail it to her.

They seem to be all over the map with fees and delivery options. Depends which copper you talk to I think.

Money can be saved by having the shots done by a local doctor. They charge about 200 each baht depending on the content. The person would need to bring the shot record to the hospital.

The procedure was changed last October to include the fees. The fees amount to 200 baht and it takes about 15 days to get the report in the mail if there is no background problem.

What she ran into is common and she knows exactly what it is; a typical bribe. They usually have the person call a cell number for " instructions". The cops know people from outside BKK are intimidated by the procedures and are used to paying them off.

The real current procedure is to deposit the 200 baht into a special police account to pay the fee which is supposed to stop the ability of the cops to rip people off.
