Only when someone 17 years old is shot dead in the street and found to not have a weapon on them. Then I tend to think that sounds slightly extreme.

According to what I've read, it was a rainy night and GZ saw somebody he didn't know at the community center. They were just standing there looking in the windows. This building, along with many of the homes in the neighborhood, had been broken into recently. That is why GZ called the cops. Somebody who doesn't live in the neighborhood, roaming around at night, looking into windows. That, to me, is suspicious behavior and it was good that GZ called the cops.

maybe you should read the transcript of gz's call again. i don't pay attention to anything gz said after the fact, his story has changed and that spells liar to me. how did gz know that he didn't live in the neighborhood? and where is "looking into windows" mentioned? i only see gz's assessment that he looks like he's on drugs or "something" and walking around..looking about. in my neighborhood, walking is completely normal. and looking around while walking is a good deterrant to falling or getting lost.

This guy looks like he's up to no good, or he's on drugs or something. It's raining and he's just walking around, looking about.

I believe that GZ had called 911 a total of 46 times in about 8 years. That's about 6 per year. I have no idea if there were good reasons for him to call or not. I also don't know his personality, if he was angry, insecure, defensive, or anything else. I guess you know him personally.

so it's okay to assume that a black kid walking around at night is suspicious and warrants a call to the cops - but taking into consideration george's repeated reporting of black people to the cops is off limits. how many times have you called the cops to report suspicious activity in your neighborhood? my uncle does it all the damn time, he's neighborhood watch, and i can count on him making derogatory statements about 'mexicans' taking over his city at least once, but usually way more than that, at any family gathering..

However, no prints or DNA from the victim were found on the gun or the holster. Matter of fact, no DNA was found at all on the trigger, making you wonder exactly how injured the perpetrator really was, seeing as, "I could hardly see with all that blood in my eyes."

I have a concealed weapon permit and I always know when it's on me.

I couldn't imagine confronting anyone and the fact that I have a firearm on me at the time, well...that just skips my mind? He's a liar or the worst neighborhood watch ever.

For him to forget that piece of hardware on his body is a little hard to believe. Maybe a jury will buy that load of bull...but I seriously doubt that.
