Hello all,

Let me give you all a little background on our situation:

I am a U.S. citizen and a Canadian permanent resident. I met my husband in the U.S. and due to his undocumented status(he EWI'd from Mexico), we decided to move to Canada. I sponsored him and he moved there almost a year ago. In the meantime, I had the toughest time finding work and since I am the primary breadwinner, this has created a huge financial and mental strain on me. My husband was able to secure work but it is not enough to support both of us. I had to move back to the U.S. with my family and I have secured employment here in the U.S. Fortunately, we had already started the U.S. immigration process before we left (about 2 years ago) and have kept it up-to-date just in case.

Now that I have returned to the U.S., we have paid the AOS IV fee ($88) and the IV fee ($230). We are waiting to receive notification of an interview in Montreal. How long will this take to get? Also, I noticed on the http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html#police website that there is a list of documents that are required at the interview. Can we start preparing these documents ahead of time? I know from past experience with Canadian immigration, the the police certificates take a while to obtain.

Another question, does anyone on here have any experience with doing I-601 waivers through Montreal? I think that now that they have centralized the I-601 waiver process, after the visa is refused (which it will be refused because by husband entered without inspection , EWI'ed) we will just submit the waiver application to the lockbox. Can someone confirm this?
