Folks,

I have been called for a second interview for my N400 application. I have also been told to get copies of my tax returns since 2007. I am applying based on 5 years of permanent resident status.

1. Should i just take photocopies of my existing returns that my accountant gave or should i actually order the copies from IRS which costs like 57 dollars/year. The other option I have is ordering transcripts which are free of cost from the IRS.

2. I did not file any return for year 2007 because I did not have any income to report. Will this be an issue ? Moreover i became a LPR in year 2008.

3. For years 2010, 2011 and 2012, I amended by returns because I had to add my wife on the return. Should i take these photocopies or the original non amended ones. Will I rock the boat if i take these ?

Thanx in advance for the help!!!!!

i vote for tax return transcripts and tax account transcripts.

Get both? all is shown - you have amended returns and that stuff doesn't show on the regular tax return transcript.

Get Both !

I ordered both tax return and tax account transcripts for last 5 years. I will also take photocopies with me.

I will also take verification of non filing letter from IRS for year 2007.

I dont want to give them any chances. They are v picky about documents.
