Not all. If a Democrat died in office then the Gov should appoint a democrat. It should also work the other way around. I am not saying they should be forced to, it just seems the right thing to do.

Agreed. Doesn't mean a few nuts wont lose their cool over it though. And say how he betrayed the party.

I guess he could always say "I was being a ####### to get disaster funds for my state. You gonna fault me for that?"

He could have done that until - following the NRA sponsored Newtown massacre - he decided to also support more gun control in one of the already tightest controlled states. That and his BFF Obama will do him in for the Republican nomination. What I could see is Christie prepping the ground for an independent run. Here's one guy on the left flank that would actually be on board with that. I don't agree with everything Christie stands for but I like and respect Christie for not being a partisan. If there's a single prominent politician out there that can credibly talk about putting the people and the country before a party, Chris Christie is it.

ETA: May Sen. Lautenberg rest in peace.

I agree. Would be good to see him run and win.

He'll never get the nomination. He might as well have taken all those photos with Stalin rather than Obama. Until the republican party stops bowing the bible thumping gun nuts, (see McCain 2000) they can forget about winning the White House. Unless someone like Dukakis or Mondale gets nominated on the Democrat side.

I guess he could always say "I was being a ####### to get disaster funds for my state. You gonna fault me for that?"

Or, he could say "I was doing the job I was elected to do - representing my constituents, all of them."

Now that would be a change.

That is what everybody thought about Obama, at the time.

Obama was nominated by the Democratic party. He was not doing an independent run.

Or, he could say "I was doing the job I was elected to do - representing my constituents, all of them."

Now that would be a change. good.gif

Republicans won't buy that. The electorate may.

The NRA sponsored Newton Massacre.. You have really taken your idiotic and absurd rhetoric to a new level.

You mean you were.

No, I mean we were. "We" being myself and Karee. You responding to his response to me could have been mistaken for you being part of "we" as well but I take it you were not. Rather, you just randomly picked a post and responded to it with an unrelated post. It's always good to do that. Keeps things interesting. Now, of course, if Karee also jst randomly replied to my post without actually replying to is, then you'd be right and "we" would really just be me.

I'm totally confused now.
