Ok that was interesting! I was at Walmart when it was still dark out. I almost bought a DVD player for my car, but then I got to thinking, I won't watch it in the car. I am surrounded by computers and laptops at work and home. It was just the thought, it was only $49. I even had the case for it in my hand and it was only $9. I didn't get either. (I only own 2 DVD's, Twister and Wizard of Oz. )

There were TV's in every cart! Well I am off to work. I don't think many people will be out shopping for flooring today. I expect it to be a slow night at my desk.

Happy Friday.

Jackie

This morning I've been watching episodes of Ugly Betty on abc.com. Does anyone else watch this show? I'm in love with it! Even though it's not a reality show!

I watched Ugly Betty last night . . . When I first heard about it a few weeks back, I decided to take a look (also, I am NOT a fan of the Survivor series). I hope Ugly Betty is a keeper . . . even though she isn't really ugly except for the braces and the clothes, hehe!!! But in the fashion industry, I guess those are "killers".

Some of the characters besides Betty are really quite funny too. I needed a break from my regular favs of crime drama shows and I wasn't Desperate enough for a bunch of skimpily clad silly housewives and I didn't want to go to the hospital anymore looking for McDreamy!!

So I say "Hurrah for Ugly Betty!" . . .

Hmmm.... slept like poop last night so I'm using that as one of the reasons for being so lazy today. :D

Voice chatted with fiance for about 3 hours after I got up this morning and then I showered and went to the bank and the grocery store. Came home and had lunch and am now reading here a bit.

And yes to honeyblonde, I did start working on a new quilt yesterday. I'll get back to it in a just a little bit this afternoon. I'm trying to take pictures at each step. I don't think most people realize what a lot of different steps and how much work it is. But I love it so I guess it's not really like work. Does anyone else here quilt?

My son should be home from his cruise today. He went with his father and step-mom/step-brother. I was worried but I'm sure he had fun and I just want to talk to him and see how he is.

Allah tries his chosen people through many hardships, but those who persevere through adversity, surrendering themselves before the will of Allah, shall be blessed with a superb reward.

-The Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as reported by Anas bin Malik

A time will come when the sky is torn apart; when the stars scatter, and the ocean drains away; and when the graves are tossed about, and laid open. At that time every man will be told what he has done, and what he has failed to do; and every woman will be told what she has done, and what she has failed to do.

What cruise line did they take?

I used to be a major cruise-a-holic!! Been on Carnival, Disney, Princess and Royal Caribbean. My fav out of those four is Princess.

I have a queen-sized quilt top finished. It's a 9-patch done in hand dyed fabrics, but I haven't had the chance to finish it. My mother said if I send it to her, she'll do it. She's a "professional" quilter who teachers, shows, judges and all that good stuff. NO PRESSURE on my sewing abilities at all. *whimper*

Heya Doodle :)

They went on Royal Caribbean. I've never been on a cruise myself. Maybe someday. What places have you been on cruises?

Just Waiting - the fabric sounds great. I love going to the fabric store and just looking. I especially love batiks.

If I had someone (a professional) offer to do the actual quilting I'm not sure how I'd feel. I've seen the most beautiful quilting done by professionals but I think I'd be more proud to have done it all by myself. But, I know everyone has different feelings about that. :)

Do you have any pictures of the top?

Hello! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Hicham and I spent last weekend and this week in San Francisco and he loved it. We went to my parents for Thanksgiving and it was delicious.

We decided to do some shopping today and it was soooo crowded everywhere. I bought tons of clothes and shoes and Hicham got lots of stuff too but we didn't get any great deals. I never like anything that's on super sale, I don't know why but I can never find anything I like.

Have a good evening!

Sarah

Went to Freeport the first cruise, On the Disney one we went to Nassau and then to Disney's private island, then on the Princess Caribbean we went to St. Thomas, Puerto Rico and St. Martin and on Royal Caribbean we went to Jamaica then one engine died so we had to go back to Ft. Lauderdale.

The Princess cruise was on a new ship (about a month old) and I felt like a wicked princess on it. :D
