Yeah I am expecting the worst but can't help and hope for the best! He is definitely hoping for the best and I keep having to remind him not to get his hopes up, and we will just have to wait and see.

Dangit auto correct why is it that you'll always auto correct jesse's to Jessie's. fail.

Well I mean even if its wine and roses and we get our noa2 in three months...there's still the rest of it. Getting it forwarded to Vancouver (or Montreal for you) and then dealing with trying to get medical and consulate appointments and then anything else you may need...oi!

Ill be amazed if I'm down for Christmas.

yep.

either way, visa granted or no, I'll be road tripping down there with the mutt to spend christmas with him. And hope they don't hassle me at the border. But if they do...I'm sure I'll still be working here. Sorry border guys, but really, I work for a bunch of corporate lawyers. If I just up and dissapeared on them...bad things would happen. Would you want a bunch of lawyers ANGRY with you? lol, they scare me.

I came to that decision last year after having to listen to the oma guilt trip me about how lonely I must be spending christmas alone and how I should be with family and blah blah blah. (c'mon, you know how bloody insanely expensive it is to fly around that time, and finding GOOD care for the mutt...nope!) Seriously, she just gets this whiny whiny voice and starts in on the thin, wavery "when are you coming home? oh you must be so lonely! oh you need to come home, when are you moving back to ontario?"

FINE. I'll go spend it with the in laws...who are a bit more within driving distance (especially in the winter). And bring the dog. Cause christmas is about family and all that jazz. I just can't stand the constant guilt trips and the "oh you're all by yourself oh you're so far from family" YEP, I've been far from family for the past eight years now...and I'm perfectly fine with that.

The last week has been like...super nice days..all sunny and perfect..then all of a sudden it will thunder and lightning and pour rain for like a half hour, then stop and be sunny again. We have the weirdest weather.

I'm staying dry - I'm far enough outside the city and away from any rivers to not have serious trouble. But...office was closed on Friday. Looks like it'll be closed again on Monday, from what news is telling me...so much is underwater. The photos are just haunting. I've got a bunch of friends who were evacuated - another friend's (mechanic) shop is under water...stampede grounds...it's crazy.

It's going to be one hell of a mess when the floodwaters recede.

Haha kc you'll be near us! We'll be round San Diego area.

Well Jesse mentioned honeymoon. Got THAT bug buzzing around my head...but lots of the cool places that we'd love to go (he wants to road trip to Alaska sometime...awesome but border crossing...), Iceland, even some all inclusive place...all involve border crossings. I mentioned maybe we do something round Cali...and he expressed a desire to go AWAY...And cali would always be around. okay. Hawaii? Lets try doing a very very small ceremony in Hawaii maybe and just sticking around for a few extra days for a moon of honey? wink.png

So that's what brought about Hawaii.

And my siblings all shocked..I don't think she realizes there's more to Hawaii than beaches.

Ps kc. Also, check out legoland smile.png

We are planing on making a trip to the Philippines in December to visit her family. That will be our honeymoon trip. I will just meet her in Nagoya and we will travel togther from there. I have no doubt that our K-1 won't even be in Tokyo by then. We know that after she gets here it will be quite a while before we will be able to travel anywhere, with getting status changed and settled in and everything else that will need to be done. Honeymoon before the wedding? Why be normal. LOL
