I am working on sending more evidence since we received an RFE letter. I recently added my wife to our credit card account. I asked the company to send a letter verifying that we are both joint cardholders. However, my wife’s name and my name will only show up on one credit card statement before sending everything in. Is it really worth it to include the letter and only one credit card statement given that they probably want statements from the past three years? Also, I added my wife’s name to our utility bills so that it shows that the bills are addressed to both of our names. However, my name is still shown as the bill to person or the main account holder/owner. We will only have one or two statements to send in that show the bills addressed to both of our names. Should I still send copies of our utility bills? Also, is it really necessary to send in copies of our W2s? All of my W2s are online so that would not be an issue for me, but my wife’s W2s will be a little more difficult to find since all of them were paper copies. We already sent copies of IRS transcripts of the federal taxes from the past three years and will be sending in tax transcripts from the state for the past three years.

In addition to this, more evidence has been requested verifying our communal residence. We have already sent lease agreements from the past two years showing that we both signed for the same residence. We will also send our latest lease agreement which we signed on for another 12 months. Would three years of lease agreements not be sufficient enough or should we include something else? I do not think our utility bills will suffice. Should I ask the manager of the property for a signed letter verifying we both reside in the same residence?

Lastly, we have decided to include three affidavits in case our financial evidence is not sufficient. The Visa Journey guide for ROC states that affidavits can help when there is a lack of documentation. Has anyone else received an RFE and then sent in affidavits and noticed that it helped? There are many other things that we have already sent and will send, but I just want to get some advice on what I have mentioned above. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

It seems like you did not really have a clear combination of your lives or did not send proof of same. I would review the postings of others as to what they sent, USCIS and VJ materials. Affidavits are a good thing. See the forum for Gary and Alla's interview with the director this should help also. if you still have issues maybe see a immigration attorney.
