I just posted off the various documents to th embassy including the DS-156. On question 14 of the DS-156 the form asks for my national identification number (if applicable)....I filled in my national issurance number, but have now just read on here that I should I have left Q14 blank. Will I have to re-submit the form?

I'm sure you will not be the first person going to the London Embassy who has done this with the DS-156. Or the last person!

Having 'National Identification' number on the form immediately makes Brits think - 'Yeah. NI number. I know that!' It's not until later you think 'Hmm. NI stands for National Insurance, not National Identification.'

If you have done the DS-156 on the PDF form and then clicked 'Submit' at the end, you may have to fill it in again. The bar code that is created at the form at the end contains all the responses that you have filled in (thanks to Nich-Nick for that snippet of info earlier in my progress). If you change your response, the bar code will change.
