can the proof of domicile, simply just be me leaving?

I am a USC and since I am abroad with the spouse, I know that my application needs to also support 'proof of domicile.'

Seeing that I need to find a job when I arrive in the U.S anyways and prepare housing etc etc, what if the last couple months before her interview, I decided to just leave a bit early to prepare.

Is that enough, or do I still need to prove my intent to go back to the states?

remember - the I-864 is adjudicated on interview day,

so

you must show (rather, yer foreign spouse must show) that proof of domicile on interview day.

If you were going through the Montreal consulate, then no.

What consulate are you dealing with?

It does depend on the US embassy you are dealing with but in general, if you already live in the US by the time the interview comes around, and can prove it's not just a visit (job, lease or own home, bills etc) that is excellent proof.
