I am a September 4 filer. Nine Months today. I live just a one hour drive from the CSC office. My case on May 14th was transfered to "another USCIS office". I am still waiting. I have never recieved a letter. I filed an e-request. The reply came from VSC with an apploagy for the delay and that they could not tell me a date when my file would be completed. I contacted my congressman. All he has been able to tell me is that my case is now at VSC. How screwed up is that.

That's weird. I wonder why it got transferred there. Did you move or anything like that?

I have not moved and my congressman just sent me this letter that they recieved from VSC. My congressmans office said their is nothing more they can do to help me.

After a review of our computer systems, it appears that your constituent's above mentioned petition is located at the Vermont Service Center and pending review.

The processing of your case has been delayed. A check of our records establishes that your case is not yet ready for decision, as the required security checks remain pending.

Until the security checks have been completed, we cannot move forward on your case. These security checks are required to be completed on all applicants who apply for the immigration benefit you are seeking. We will make every effort to make a decision on this case as soon as the security checks are complete. If you do not receive a decision or other notice of action from us within 6 months of this letter, please contact us by calling our customer service number provided below.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this email response, please contact our office.

Thank you,

Hmmm. Any reason to believe background/security checks on you would take longer? It appears from the wording that is why your case was delayed and sent to the VSC.

Could it be her? My fiance?

Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think they do any background check on her - just you. The embassy does it on her. Edited by Leon & Mylen
