July - January CSC Filers Who Have Been Skipped Over

I am a September 4 filer. Nine Months today. I live just a one hour drive from the CSC office. My case on May 14th was transfered to "another USCIS office". I am still waiting. I have never recieved a letter. I filed an e-request. The reply came from VSC with an apploagy for the delay and that they could not tell me a date when my file would be completed. I contacted my congressman. All he has been able to tell me is that my case is now at VSC. How screwed up is that.

That's weird. I wonder why it got transferred there. Did you move or anything like that?

After a review of our computer systems, it appears that your constituent's above mentioned petition is located at the Vermont Service Center and pending review.

The processing of your case has been delayed. A check of our records establishes that your case is not yet ready for decision, as the required security checks remain pending.

Until the security checks have been completed, we cannot move forward on your case. Hmmm. Any reason to believe background/security checks on you would take longer? It appears from the wording that is why your case was delayed and sent to the VSC.

Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think they do any background check on her - just you. The embassy does it on her. Edited June 5, 2013 by Leon & Mylen
