My Petition to lord USCIS

Hey lord USCIS,

1) What crime you see in a marriage between yr Son / Daughter and a citizen of another country?? I just got married to a person whom I loved and in whom I found my faith." What is my fault?

2) Why are you calling him an "ALLEAN", it hurts me a lot. Can you please change this. He/she is going to be yr son/daughter in law.

3) Its so freezing cold out here in US this season. I want the warmth of my hubby/wife.

Can your staff stay away from their hubby /wives for so long???

And this is after $420 that I paid. You never had to relay on any federal funds for this.

Why ?

We understand your sentiment.

Believe it or not, the delays were longer (you can ask some of the senior posters on here) before you got in line. A concerted effort on part of activists on this forum reduced the wait time by ~ 2 months (true story).

You are dealing with the federal bureaucracy of the third most populous country in the world.

There are a lot of people wanting to immigrate before you AND at the same time as you.

It is nerve-racking, anxiety-provoking and a bit humiliating (using words like alien to describe human beings) all the same. But you have to get used to it - and you have to cope. For what its worth - the wait will make you stronger.

I've been lurking here for the last 2 weeks, after I got a letter that my wife's I-130 was transferred to the Nebraska Service Center on Dec. 26. (My PD is June 20, 2013.) I called USCIS yesterday to ask about the status of our case and was told that they're currently processing Feb. 13th. and that I need to wait until they're caught up to my priority date before they'll do anything....

It's the standard song and dance. When you get to 1 month since your transfer date, I'd recommend you start making inquiries again. Email your service center directly (Nebraska: nscfollowup.nsc@uscis.dhs.gov) in addition to calling USCIS and enlisting the support of your elected representatives. Some March filers reported sudden progress after contacting the service centers, which may just be coincidental, but everything is worth trying.

I'll add you to the transfer spreadsheet. The more info we can collect, the better!

I hesitated to make this post, I wish it could be more useful and less stressful to my fellow filers suffering through the process, but maybe it'll spread some hope anyway. Received my approval notice late last night and it was a very much needed bit of good news. USCIS didn't email me until almost 12 hours after my status updated, so I recommend you guys follow your status online and don't rely on their alerts.

NOA1: June 12

Transfer to CSC: Dec 23

NOA2: January 7

So this is after CSC approved a June 12 and a June 14 filer last Friday -- they're really running through their cases. I have no idea what will happen at Texas or Nebraska but I'm definitely sticking around to see (and to help). My fingers are crossed for all of you. Keep sharing updates here and I'll make sure everything makes it into our spreadsheet!

So happy for you!!! Thanks for your works with the spreadsheets.

It's hard to estimate, anxiousI7925, as each embassy has its own way of doing things. It can take NVC 6-8 weeks just to acknowledge that they have your paperwork from USCIS. Then you have to get the payments made, and the forms filled out (correctly). After all of that, NVC ticks all the boxes on their checklist, and they send it off to your embassy. So the NVC step can be a 2-3 month process depending on how fast YOU are!

You can probably get a sense of how fast YOUR embassy works by reading the embassy reviews on this site. Some embassies assign you an interview date, and in others, YOU book the date. You must get your police clearance(s) and your medical check before you interview. I know OUR particular embassy is usually a 4-6 week period between getting the file from NVC and the interview date. So....another 2-3 months, perhaps.

Hope this helps.

I agree-It`s hard to say how long this will take but if you fill out everything correctly and you don`t waste any time on your end and it won`t take USCIS 1.5 months to send out your file, the time between NOA2 and your interview date is probably 4 months. Maybe there the a spreadsheet for that on VJ....
