Are you in the same boat im in I just heard that in the msc is faster is that true

It's not 'good or bad', it's pretty much the same for everyone now. They mostly reroute petitions to field offices anyway.

I'm in this boat since March, yes. I suppose they'll reroute mine to Seattle field office and i see no evidence currently of this process being any faster than other non-DCF options.

I'm the beneficiary.

Want to know what's happening with your case? Here's the USCIS tracking page (get an account and see if the case's been 'touched'!). Don't get your hopes up though, some cases never even appear there despite being successfully processed.

You can find the field office responsible for the petitioner's area by zip code here (bottom of the page).

From what I can tell, MSC sends it to the local office around 36 days after they receive it and start processing. This is standard for everyone. From there, it's all up to the speed of the local office, which is highly variable from office to office.

Some people with direct experience might be able to give you their processing time through Miami, but based on my rough calculation from data pulled from the USCIS site, I'd expect 8-10 months until your I-130 is approved.

Miami has a pretty sorry I-130 approval rate - around 11% of all pending are approved per month, when the national average is around 20%. They receive around twice as many I-130 petitions than they are approving per month.

I noticed earlier today that my VJ estimate, which started at mid Oct-mid Nov, is now late Nov-late Dec :( I don't think I'll let myself check it much going forward. There's nothing to do but get through the wait as patiently as possible -- until the 5 month mark, at which point I can start demanding answers ;)

I just checked and mine has been pushed back to Nov - late Dec as well, so frustrating :(

also, when I check my time line it says my embassy is Armenia, does anyone know why my timeline keeps defaulting to this?

2013-22-05: Sent I-130 to Chicago Lockbox

2013-10-06: NOA1 received - Petition at Overland Park, Kansas

2013-11-12: Email stating our I-130 has been transferred to a local USCIS Office

2013-13-12: Email stating our I-130 was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office

Have now decided to do DCF through the London Embassy:

2013-22-10: Overnighted a second I-130 to London

2013-24-10: NOA1

2013-21-11: Letter requesting that we cancel our I-130 petition filed in the U.S.

2013-09-12: NOA2

Our timeline also moved one month back, but since we are together now we are not bothered by that much. :D

Honestly now, though, I was counting on NOA 2 somewhere between Christmas and Valentines Day so end of Nov estimated surprised me a lot. This is closer to my calculations.

Ivy if my application goes to a local field office I'll also be at San Antonio! I applied from abroad though so not sure yet. Have you done any research on what the San Antonio processing times are like?

also, I'm a bit confused, after recieving the NOA2, say you have all your paper work prepared and ready to go and there are no hiccups, how long is the NVC to interview processing time?

my UK visa runs out in January, at this rate looks like I will definitely have to leave my husband behind :(

I think your application will stay at NBC and be done in like 4 months. That's what I've seen happen with applications filed from aborad.

NVC phase could be done in 4-6 weeks if you speed through it. I bookmarked LingChe NVC Shortcut, check it out if you haven't yet. I don't know how fast interviews are scheduled in the UK.

As for San Antonio Field Office, I have not seen that information. Maybe I don't know how to use the USCIS website correctly? I saw that they have A SH*?LOAD of applications compared to last year :( When I looked for SAT processing times on this webpage it shows I-485, N-400 and N-600 but no I-130. Have you been able to find more info?

Ivy I've had the same issues, the USCIS website doesn't list anything for I-130's in any of the local field offices. It seems some April filers are getting NOA2's which gives me some hope!

Hi! I guess we belong in this topic! I filed the I-130 the day after DOMA was struck down - so we filed June 27, 2013. Received our NOA1 on July 1, 2013!

And now we wait!!!

We're using an attorney - I'm assuming our I-130 went to the MSC first (since we got an MSC receipt number). Don't know if it will get routed to Vermont (our closest) or not. Kind of hoping not, since Vermont seems WAAAAAAAAAAAY behind!

I'm currently offshore with my partner, but will be returning to the US without her for September-October.

We are so excited that all of the back-and-forth, and solo US returns will be over soon!
