If you don't mind me asking, why did you guys request an expedite? Just curious. You don't have to answer if you don't want to. Congrats btw!

We had multiple reasons and there is a bit of a complex back story. It was definitely a "Hail Mary" request but we felt like it was worth at least trying. We filed the expedite on grounds of compelling interest and financial loss to individual and business. In short, I went to school in the US at a state school and was on a scholarship. Essentially, my education was paid for in part by US tax dollars. I do have a job offer pending hasty visa approval which would mean I would be paying taxes shortly after POE and contributing back to the system which put me thru University. I have included an exerpt from our letter.

"My wife (full name), beneficiary of the pending I-130, was educated at XXX State University and was a recipient of a fully paid scholarship. The State paid over $XXX,XXX for her education and it is in the best interest of country and state to see an appropriate return on its educational investment."

Also, we wrote a seperate letter based on financial hardship. As we all know, being seperated from our spouses is a huge financial and emotional drain.

We included lots of evidence for each letter and I do believe involving the senator was a HUGE help to our expedite case.

Thanks for all the support and I hope everyone's petitions start moving ASAP!

Happy Holidays!

Called uscis next week they will update processing times.

Next week my case will be on 6 months ( yipppppiiiii -_-)

I would have known this would have taken so long would have brought my husband as a fiancé.

They are now processing resident petitions first than us citizens it's taking 5 months for them and 7 + months for USC" good luck everyone! We are all going to need it hopefully next week June filer petitons start getting processed.

I got transferred to a local USCIS Office. Not entirely sure what that means but I guess it is good news? or it might mean another 6+ months of waiting...

On December 13, 2013, we transferred your I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN, to your local USCIS Office for further processing. The new office has jurisdiction over your case and will send you a decision as soon as processing is complete or you will be notified if further information or action is needed. If you move, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address.

Regular filer. Have not got anything in the mail yet but I don't expect to get USCIS mail for another week or two. Takes a bit for mail from the States to arrive in Japan.

BTW what's PD?
