So what do you all think? I'm a late June filer - but I've officially passed the 5 month mark (154 days). My senators are Kirsten Gillibrand and Chuck Schumer, both of whom are really "with it" people. You may recognize Schumer's name from the Gang of Eight who were struggling to get immigration reform up and running.

Is it worth it to contact Chucky-boy at this point? Or has USCIS "officially" changed their timeframe to 7.2 months, or whatever it is?

I'm glad to see some transfer movement, but wish they'd get ALL of us in June!

Sukie

I suggest you contact your local Congressman as well. New York has 27 and they may respond in a more timely manner than Schumer or Gillibrand. Be sure to fill out their forms requesting help and then mail/ fax that in. If you get a response, let us know here on the forums.

Unfortunately, my local Congress person is a Republican who was adamantly opposed to same-sex couples (of which I am one) getting rights. I don't think I'll go local. But I'll do the letter writing thing, and check with Chuck and Kirsten if nothing has happened by January 1st.

I know all of you feel the stress of being apart during the holidays!

Does it really matter wether the mailing address is in the States or abroad?

We filed when we were living in Japan, then we decided to move back to China just so we can get all the necessary paperwork for the immigration, so before we moved back, we changed our address to my mother-in-law's address, which is also my hubby's mailing address in the States. After we moved to China, we just kept the address that way, considered China post won't deliver or will likely loose snail mails. Should we change our address to where we currently are?

After we moved back to China (last month) I called the USCIS office in China and explained our situation, and the answer I got was it doesn't matter where ur address is and it won't speed up or slow down the process whatsoever! it only depends on which address is more convenient for us to get the mail.

Now I m confused.

I don't claim to know whether or not it really matters, but some people believe that petitions filed from abroad are moved faster than domestic. That's why I included that information.

Wow! That's sooo helpful! And you are right! there are still a lot of March cases waiting for NOA2 while those who have received NOA2 with in a short time after the transfer! What's the deal?! Why some get approved soo soon?!

Not everyone reports in either --- Once the approval comes in they just blow-off this site... can you blame them?

Kaylara, I'm already working with their New York office. I'm sure my number will come around with everyone else's. I just don't want to ask a hostile congress person for help.
