They must have taken a whole stack of us from the Philippines ... even my forum is having the same results and we all have Filipina wives or Fiancees.

Correct. USCIS just sent a stakeholder email stating:

We have taken steps to provide relief to victims of the typhoon. Filipino nationals in the United States should visit the home page of our website to learn about a series of existing relief measures that may be available to them. In addition, we are proactively identifying and expediting pending petitions for alien relatives, the Form I-130, that have been filed by U.S. Citizens for their Filipino immediate relatives. Our standard security checks remain in place.

So there's not even a need to file for an expedite, they're just pulling any spouses from the Phillippines out of line for review.

Expedited processing doesn't guarantee approval. But my impression is that they'll expedite all Philippine cases, not just those affected by the typhoon.

That isn't really fair for the rest of us. You know? I can see if the person was in an area affected directly, but just in the Philippines in general? That makes no sense.

I agree with you. I'm all for affected individuals getting out of that awful situation, especially people who have already been waiting too long for their NOA2. But I can't deny it seems wrong to me to give all beneficiaries from the Philippines a trip to the front of the line regardless of whether they were affected. That's a lot of people.

Yeah - how about expediting those of us who have been married for years, but the United States wouldn't recognize our marriages until June 27, 2013????? It's back of the bus again....

It does make sense from a logistical standpoint. It would take exponentially longer to wade through the thousands of expedite requests and determine on a case-by-case basis who was or was not affected. Pulling every application and expediting it is not a humanitarian move; it really is about streamlining the process for everyone; not just filipinos. I know this is of little comfort.
