Thanks for that.

A few things -

  • Fiscal Q2 is from Jan-March, so the latest report is through March 2013
  • That 1,000,000+ pending for immediate relatives at the end of March is a very wonky number.

I can follow the math from the Q1 report: pending from last quarter + receipts from this quarter - completions this quarter = pending this quarter.

That math checks out, and even in the Q2 report, the receipts and completions sums work.

However, basically, using the equation I have above, we should have at the end of Q2: 176646 pending from Q1 + 254974 received Q2 - 168258 completed Q2 = 263363 pending at end of Q2

However, the report shows over a million. That's 750,000 that are not accounted for anywhere in the table.

More simply - how can you start with 175,000 pending from Q1, receive 250,000 more in Q2, complete 170,000 in Q2 (essentially completing all of the pending from Q1), and then still end up with 1,000,000 (!!) still remaining at the end of Q2? It doesn't match.

Maybe the missing 750,000 were pending previous to Q1? - which would mean that they ran in the red by 300,00 petitions from October 2012 - March 2013?

Going by the USCIS dashboard page, there were just under 320,000 I-130 petitions pending nationally as of July 31. I haven't looked at the other report being linked here yet but I think that 1mil figure is something different. Maybe total petitions recived for the year or something?

Maybe the missing 750,000 were pending previous to Q1? - which would mean that they ran in the red by 300,00 petitions from October 2012 - March 2013?

The report data consistently has matched (not exactly, but fairly close) the dashboard trend chart in the past 2 years. Only as of the latest report was there such a huge discrepancy (300,000 in the dashboard; 1,000,000 in the report as of March 2013).

I will say that Q1 and Q2 2013 (Oct 2012-March 2013) had more than 2.5x the normal quarterly I-130 submittals (125k per quarter instead of the normal ~50k per quarter), but even with that, I still can't reconcile the 1,000,000 pending number.

Going by the USCIS dashboard page, there were just under 320,000 I-130 petitions pending nationally as of July 31. I haven't looked at the other report being linked here yet but I think that 1mil figure is something different. Maybe total petitions recived for the year or something?

Essentially all of the I-130s noted in the report are labeled as 'Immediate Relative'. There is a 'All Other Relative' class, but there's only a few thousand there. Beyond that, no other info on what the I-130 is being used for.

The 1mil is total year, but it doesn't match the sums (a process flow of petitions in and out) of 2012, Q1 2013, and Q2 2013. 750000 pendings for total year 2013 just appear in the total, but are not reflected in any of the quarter totals for received minus completed.

I don't want to say that the most recent report has an error, but I will say fairly confidently that the quarterly reports do not logically or mathematically connect from Q1 to Q2 2013, and the dashboard does not reflect the data in the report. My initial call was "very wonky", and I stick by that smile.png

Additional thought - the reports prior to most recent don't seem to have been tracking the 'Pending but unripe; adjudication deferred' for preference based I-130s (not ours - we're immediate).

My guess - they seem to have thrown these pending I-130s (that are not being processed because they are waiting for their priority date) into the immediate visa pending mix, and essentially at least doubled the number of pending I-130s shown in the report even though they were never in the report before and are not being actively processed...

My two cents - the best place to get the most accurate, most up to date (currently showing July numbers) is the dashboard for I-130 Imm Rel National Trends: http://dashboard.uscis.gov/index.cfm?formtype=4&office=91&charttype=1

Workload Transfer from National Benefits Center to Service Centers

USCIS recently began transferring some casework from the National Benefits Center to the

Nebraska, Texas and California Service Centers to balance overall operational workload. The

affected casework includes the following form:

• I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, filed by U.S. citizens for their eligible immediate

relative (spouse, child, or parent).

Effect on Customers

If your case was transferred, USCIS will send you a notice listing the transfer date and where

your case will be processed. Your original receipt number will not change and this will not

further delay the processing of your case.

Friends ,

Anybody know about e-request ? do u know if i can do e request for i-130

e-Request

e-Request is a web-based tool that allows you to place an inquiry with USCIS for certain applications and petitions. You may make an inquiry on selected forms that are beyond posted processing times or selected forms where you did not receive an Application Support Center (ASC) appointment notice or other notice. You can also create an inquiry for a notice you received from a Service Center with a typographical error.

To place an inquiry, you will need your receipt number. If you do not have your receipt number contact the USCIS Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283 or 1-800-767-1833 (TTY).

If you have previously initiated a service request, please wait 30 days to receive a response before notifying USCIS again.

Note: You must submit a Change of Address to update your address on your application or petition.

Hi ,

what is infopass ? .. anybody tried tht ?

I have not tried it, yet I have the understanding that is kind of an appointment with USCIS where they can supposedly answer any questions you may have. Yet the people I've read they got it have said they can't give you concert answers if you don't have an approved or denied case
