I'm pretty sure that if USCIS wants access to your POE records they will get it. I don't think they have direct access, but I could be wrong there. In the I-130 instrustions, it doesn't specifically say to send copies of passport stamps, it falls under the other evidence category. Its just another way to prove actual visits with your husband/wife. I haven't only included my passport entry stamps into the US, but my husband's entry stamps to Greece as well.

This might be a silly question, but can USCIS see what Immigrations Officers see when I come to POE? Or do we send the passport stamps because that information does not pop up on the screen when they put my name in the record?

I didn't include any previous visas/stamps from my wife's foreign passport to show she visited.

The only passport-related documents that I sent were copies of visas in my passport showing I visited Russia, but there is a question on the I-130 asking if the beneficiary has been in the US before. I marked yes, and left it at that.

I'm sure they can check entry records/I-94s to see if that's true, but I also sent a California marriage license that my wife signed.

Hello! I am married to a British citizen and we are filing from over here! Out package arrived in Chicago on the 8th of June and got the email this morning, 13th of June that it has been routed to the USCIS National Benefits Center for processing.

Could someone explain to me what NOA1 and NOA2 means?

Also, any idea of how long applications are taking at the centre mine has gone on to? We really want to be back to the states by the end of the year if possible!

2013-22-05: Sent I-130 to Chicago Lockbox

2013-10-06: NOA1 received - Petition at Overland Park, Kansas

2013-11-12: Email stating our I-130 has been transferred to a local USCIS Office

2013-13-12: Email stating our I-130 was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office

Have now decided to do DCF through the London Embassy:

2013-22-10: Overnighted a second I-130 to London

2013-24-10: NOA1

2013-21-11: Letter requesting that we cancel our I-130 petition filed in the U.S.

2013-09-12: NOA2

NOA means notice of action. NOA1 is to tell you your petition has been received and entered into the system for processing. It has your case number on it; you'll want to set up an account on the USCIS website to track your status. NOA2 will be your notice of approval for the I-130 (not visa overall).

NBC doesn't post processing stats for the I-130, but this might help give you an idea of your expected wait based on other members' experience: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php. It's unlikely you'll be approved and ready to go before the end of the year. Are you both in the UK now? Was DCF an option for you?

Thanks for the explanation makes reading these post a lot easier!

It's unfortunate to hear about the waiting time, my UK visa is expiring in January and we generally just want to move on and get settled.

I only recently found out that we could have applied through London. Would this have made the process a bit quicker? Any way to change it at this point?

DCF is typically much faster than processing through the US, and with a low-fraud embassy like London, it would probably be a relatively easy time. I'm not well versed on DCF so hopefully someone more knowledgeable can step in and provide their two cents on switching. My guess would be that you might be able withdraw your existing petition and refile in London. Take a browse here http://www.visajourney.com/content/dcf and here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/82-direct-consular-filing-dcf-general-discussion/ to figure out if you're eligible, there are residency requirements that I'm not familiar with offhand, and hopefully you'll find that you're able to switch tracks. Highly recommend the DCF route if you can! :)

Most petitions starting at the NBC these days will go on to be routed to your local field office. Check here http://dashboard.uscis.gov/index.cfm?formtype=4 to see your field office's volume. Some are much busier (and therefore slower) than others.

I hope ours will go out by the end of the week. My husband works longer than the local post office so he still didn't get around to doing it. Almost ready though, he said he'll add some tabs today and that is it.
