You are not alone! There are others on the same boat, and we all understand how frustrating and upsetting this is.

My husband and I spent 2 hours in line for our infopass, we explain that we never received our RFE letter (they never sent, but they keep telling us they did back in October), we bagged and demanded that they print us a copy, asked them to tell us what is missing from the 400 page file we sent...we already opened 2 service request and 30 days later still no letter... their answer to us is that we they were going to request NBC to transfer the files to them and that would take 30 days, plus 30 more days for them to get back to us.

I left the Chciago office crying in anger. Why is it so hard for them to mail a piece of paper or at least TELL US what do they need from us. We did everything right, and someone at USCIS screw up, but obviously they wont admit it, there has been no progress in 6 months and now we are looking at having to cancel the honeymoon we have been planning and paying for 1 year and a half now.

One thing I know though, I'm not taking a question mark for an answer. AS my husband says, we are going to throw them the kitchen sink.

we also received an email last dec 11 2014 that our case was RFE. Weve waited for yhe hardcopy until month of january and nothing.hubby calked and they told us they will send another copy, february came and nothing mu hubby called again and same thing they told us,they will send another copy. He called again before the end of february finally USCIS admit their mistake, they had sent the hard copy in kuwait while infact month of july last year we already changed our mailing address. So they told us after 15 days we will hear frim them...after 15 days what we received is a ketter telling us...after 15 days you will receive the hardcopy for your RFE. i dont know why i want to cry...i cant understand why instead of sending the rfe hardcopy they sent us a letter to wait fir another 15 days again. 3 months had wasted ...

Keep calling everyday if you have to, and asked to be escalated to an officer, the customer service folks who first answer the phone know nothing about our cases. if there is a reason why there is such a big delay on your case, they are required to provide to you or make a decision.

My RFE took 42 days

I filed June 24 Th and my Senator Barbara Boxer's office did nothing but ask where my case was time wise. Just received a generic letter saying they are doing their best and our case is still under review. Something about having to protect the USA. I agree but really they, this is way to long to wait and I actually filed in March but thanks their mistake they put me down as filing June 24 Th. It's amazing how inefficient they are or are they?

Bottom line I don't think our representatives can do anything for us at least that is what I was told by my Senators office.

It's too hard. Way way too hard now.

Your not alone, I sit many nights and just cry until the sun rises and here I am still waiting and waiting it seems for ever to be with my husband. I had to come back home to take care of my beloved parents so right now I can't even go visit him and can't work because of what I came back to do. I know the desperation well and the inability to fix this problem is driving me crazy. I haven't even received a RFE, God willing I'll hear something soon. I'll be praying for all of us.

Today, I received the response regarding my expedite process:

On 03/31/2014, you or your representative contacted USCIS concerning your I-130 to notify us that you believe your case is outside of our normal processing time. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved.

We have placed your case on a processing hold because the required security checks remain pending. Until we receive the results of these security checks, we cannot move forward on your case. We require the results of security checks before we make a decision on any pending case.

We cannot predict when we will receive the results of these security checks. Please be assured that we will make every effort to make a decision in your case as soon as the security checks are complete.

We hope this information is helpful to you.

I wonder if this is just BS, mine is at the Nebraska center or Hell center as it should be called and mine states as follows.

USCIS records confirm that this case is pending background check clearance. USCIS is committed to adjudicating these cases in a timely manner (yeah sure) while also ensuring public safety and national security. A small percentage of cases have unresolved background check issues that temporarily delay adjudication. Although USCIS makes every effort to resolve such cases promptly, USCIS is unable to speculate when the background check will be completed in your constituent's case.

What the heck does this mean, I'm confused or just so frustrated I can't understand what they are trying to say. At first I thought well they haven't gotten to the background check yet then I thought there is a problem. Can anyone decipher this please? Maybe a fresher mind not spinning like mine.

I so agree because my husband comes from a well known family and has a sparkling clean record and work ethic, plus he is a well educated man. What the H e l l more can they ask for. So many come in illegally with no education and then they give them amnesty. Ok sorry off topic just a bit upset.

Lol I come from a clean background myself and they usually never take so long for female beneficiaries. No idea what they saw fishy in our case.

Most likely they found nothing fishy about your case I think they are just there to make our lives a living hell. Technology supposedly is so advanced it shouldn't take them this long to find out who is a terrorist and who isn't. Such a small percentage are. I don't know it's all such a farce.

I actually don't have a clue what they meant in the letter, could be they haven't gotten to a background check but then further on they switch to why they................... ok why go on I'm confused! I think I'm to pissed off to think straight right now. Just saw the news on illegals and was infuriated once again. They have more rights than we do and they are demanding, DEMANDING no deportations so families wont be separated when they are just over the boarder for PETE'S SAKE! What are we chopped liver!

Since I have been on VJ I have seen so many campaigns and petetions being signed and everything. And I thnk they actually worked cuz uscis changed the time on site from 10 even 16 months to 5 months now. What sucks is that Its just good for the future filers but we just got screwed we were unfortunate.
