I'm flying to US in the middle of Sep. I hope my wife will be in US by Feb because she is due in April. I'll be dad...happy happy happy

Aww congrats!! I hope she's approved while she can still fly!

Hey guys,

I had originally posted on here when the threat originally began, but for personal reasons, me and hubby decided to wait a couple of months. Finally filed in Aug and we already have our NOA1.

I have been scouring threads and posts all over VJ to try and find out more about the new NBC service centre they have created in Kansas. From the information I was able to gather, it seems that May 20113 filers' petitions and onwards are sitting prettily in at the Kansas service centre, in Division 8 waiting for the end of september so they can begin working on them.

Anyone heard anything new or different?

My impression is also that I-130s started going to Kansas in May. I've seen a few efforts across the site to determine if April filers and earlier have gone there, but I have yet to see any of them who aren't in Missouri. What I'm wondering is whether Missouri will process the petitions it has backlogged (and then presumably stop adjudicating them when queue is cleared), or whether any NBC that haven't gone to field offices will eventually find their way to Kansas. Nothing for it but to wait and see :)

Well I have a June 10 Priority date (I-130 for child of USC). I just received feedback from the USCIS and my file is STILL at NBC/MSC "being worked by and officer" (quote).

I do not believe files will be sent to Overland Park/KSC before it is fully operational.

I know the K1 filers are sharing their happiness, not trying to rub it in or brag, but the daily posts on the front page gleefully declaring how quick and easy the process was for them... well, we could definitely use some of that luck :) Starting with the poor February CR1 filers! Really hoping things get better next month, August has been an awful slog.

2013-22-05: Sent I-130 to Chicago Lockbox

2013-10-06: NOA1 received - Petition at Overland Park, Kansas

2013-11-12: Email stating our I-130 has been transferred to a local USCIS Office

2013-13-12: Email stating our I-130 was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office

Have now decided to do DCF through the London Embassy:

2013-22-10: Overnighted a second I-130 to London

2013-24-10: NOA1

2013-21-11: Letter requesting that we cancel our I-130 petition filed in the U.S.

2013-09-12: NOA2

wow, just read the last few pages of the Febraury post and it's really, really depressing.

I'm really angry at myself for not researching things well enough, I could have applied at the London embassy which from my understanding would not have taken as long. Is it worth it to try and cacnel our application and resend it to London?

I know how you feel, I have some of that in my personal case as well.

Definitely if you can apply directly at US embassy in London that would be the way to go.

I saw a timeline somewhere in here that stated a 4 month process from A to Z.

But I am not sure if you can cancel a petition.

Keep us updated!

Petitions can be canceled, yes. If you cancel, the filing fee will be lost. It will not impact your future petitions from what I have read.

DCF is faster generally 3x faster than the normal I-130 route.

Speaking of all those NOA2 that are MIA, I wish all May filers had theirs by now. Then next month it would be our turn. :D Hopefully when this KS center starts working, we see CR-1/IR-1 flying back and forth!

It's worth noting that even filers from abroad have reported waiting times of 3+ months for NOA2, which is unusual for them. I saw quite a few who planned on using notes from the attorney conference as evidence that their waiting times were outside normal processing. You might want to scoot around VJ a little more to see what other anecdotal evidence you can find. Visit the DCF thread, see how they're doing. Canceling your current petition to refile may end up taking as long as waiting for the original would have, since you've already done 2.5 months of waiting. Ultimately it's all a guessing game and it comes down to what you're happiest doing.

You can cancel your application, but that will mean refiling, as Ivy mentioned, another filing fee and you get in the back of the line. May DCF filers still haven't received their NOA2s, at least the ones on VJ haven't. Right now you are ahead of the game by 2 months.

Considering that not even March filers have received there NOA2, then if he wants it done fast the best way to go is DCF.

No brainer.

The only bug is the 420 usd. Other than that, it's all good.

I've seen filers from abroad from March and May who are still waiting on NOA2 =\ Seems like processing is at a stand-still across the board for the I-130.
