Hi all - I've been following the June filers forum for a while. I'm a fellow filer with a PD of 7th June. Just wondering if you are all in the US already without your partners or are any of you overseas filers? I'm assuming most of you are in the US as you already have you local office assignment whereas we are still at NBC as we filed from Australia (although I'm a Brit and the husband is the USC). This is a very frustrating process to say the least but I guess we must all just wait in line. I was trying to explain this to the US in laws and they can't belielve that we have to wait so long! It's sounds stupid explaining it to people who think that because you've been married for 8 years you should just be able to pitch up at the airport and get automatic entry! Wouldn't that be nice!

Anyway I read somewhere that they are trying to get all overseas filers done (from NOA1 to NOA2) in 60 days (Q4, Point C http://www.uscis.gov/USCIS/Outreach/Notes%20from%20Previous%20Engagements/2013/May%202013/NBC-AILA-QA-2013-05-01.pdf), we're currently at 75 days so that's not working too well for us! Anyway, just wanted to say hi to everyone seeing that we're all in the same boat! And would be great to hear from people who are also overseas filers and what experiences they have had.

Hello Donkey!!

We are filling from abroad as well (France).

I agree with all of what you are saying. Frustrating to say the least!!!

One thing I do not understand is that, for my wife who filed in April 2012, delay from NOA1 to NOA2 was a whopping.... 10 days!!!!

Yes..10 days between NOA1 and NOA2!!!!

My daughter, for whom I have a PD of June 10 2013, has been waiting for 2 and a half months and still no NOA2 !!!

And 22 days and counting since I requested an Expedite Procedure for her....(sigh!!!) Unfreakinbelievable....!!!

By the way, we lived in Melbourne in 2010, had a great time down there!

Best of luck for your journey..

Rudy

10/15/2013 Case approved, Notice mailed

There are a couple of filers from abroad on this thread (Ivy has been maintaining an overview) but most of us are in the US.

Oh I better pick it up and make a new list :D I will, later today!

Anyways, regarding my husband's nonchalant filing, I decided I would not do anything. I'll even stop being upset about it.

I told him it's a problem, I told him what potential ways of correcting it he has. Unless he asks for my help, I won't do anything more or mention it again. If it slows us down, okay. If they reject the petition for it, he will have to come life with me. Hmm... maybe that would be even better. :D

It's been over 2 weeks and nothing... should I call them back? What's the best way to talk to a competent person?

Hey, rudyzn, I don't know if anyone answered to your post.

I am sorry you are in this situation. Did you tell the Embassy about your wife's pregnancy and child? Could she not be somehow automatically included in your wife's file after birth? :/ This seems very stupid if there is no way to add a newborn baby somehow faster...

I do not know what you should do, but I would definitely talk to a Tier 2 officer if you call USCIS. I would also contact the local Embassy and let them know of the situation. Worst case scenario, maybe they could issue a new visa for your wife (after a new medical I would assume) so that your wife can enter the US later than Jan 2014?

Good luck, let us know what happened!

i'm feeling really down, my wife says she wants to be alone, wont talk to anyone not even her family cray5ol.gif

Hey, kalotes, how are you doing? Are things better between you and your wife now?

Also, what did you put as NOA 1? Priority date or notice date? I put the notice date, I was just wondering if everyone else on our list did the same thing?

Thanks for the updated list Ivy! As for your husband's mishap, good luck :) The petitioner handles all the contact with USCIS anyway, so it makes double sense to have him do the worrying and sort what needs to be done. Wishing all the best for you!

I also used my notice date, although the priority date was only one day earlier, so I don't think it would make a ton of difference. We're cruising up on 2.5 months since NOA1, and while it's impossible to know how much longer it'll be, it's kind of nice to remind myself that we've got these days stacked up behind us already no matter what.

Agreed, mayb!

I checked the goal processing time page today, and that was finally updated with June data as well. The "national average" was 13.3 months as of end of May; as of end of June, it is 9.5 months. It's probably meaningless, but I feel better seeing it drop all the same :)

Goal time remains at 5 months, despite every report I've seen on VJ stating Tier 2 is giving 6 months as a best case scenario.

Hey Ivy!!

Told USCIS, NVC and Embassy about pregnancy. Doesn't change anything. Baby cannot be included in petition. Each immigrant files one I-130.

Already talked to the Tier 2. Waiting for news..

Hope this new facility opening in September really speeds things up

Good luck everyone!

Hey Rudyzn,

Isn't possible to report your baby's birth abroad and make him or her a US citizen after birth?

That way he/she does not have to apply for a visa.

Our son was born in the Netherlands, but because his father is a US citizen, we could 'report his birth abroad', which meant we had to fill in some papers and go by the US embassy/consulate.

Maybe that is possible for your child also.

Good luck!

Hello Nona,

Unfortunately, as I have not lived more than 5 years in the US throughout my life, I have to sponsor my child in order for him to become a LPR and immediately afterwards a USC.... Bummer.

With all the posts flying around about this magical new service center ramping up for September, I finally remembered to check my I-797 hardcopy last night. I had assumed I was at the Missouri center (since my receipt number is MSC) but the address on the letter is actually the new facility at Overland Park, KS. I'm feeling pretty good about that since Boston is not known to be one of the faster field offices, and with Kansas being fully operational about a month from now, I doubt my file will get transferred. What about you all? Did your petition go straight to Kansas? It seems like all the May filers started there, but I don't get that impression from any of the earlier monthly threads.

my I797 has that same addres that means that by next month they are going to be faster for us with that because that office is going to be fully operational

Yup, same thing here. Overland Park, KS. So you think our petitions will not go to local field centers at all?
