I called ans spoke to a supervisor and if your husband lifes abroad your i130 doesn't get sent to a local office just to let you know I called and spoke to a inmigration officer and that is wat he told me

7 weeks from today I'll be back with my husband, visiting in England. His last trip to see me in the US ended the first week of June and it feels like it's been forever already. The roller coaster that is USCIS hasn't been helping much. I saw another VJ member got a notice from USCIS that NBC is holding petitions because field offices are swamped, but I don't know if that means NBC will process them or if it'll just be that much longer before they're forwarded on. I hate that they can't provide reliable information as to where our petitions are and where they'll be adjudicated. This process would be much more bearable if there were any sort of transparency as to what happens after the I-130s leave our hands.

They aprove it a the nbc wich is msc

Urgh!!

My friend invited me to join her and her friends for a drink last night. There were 6 of us, 5 of us married. Someone asked me how I met my husbad, I say we played a game together and then one of the girls asks the best thing ever...

Her: - Wait, where is your husband?

Me: - U.S.

Her: - Is he American?

Me: - Yes.

Her: - Oh, so you married him for the "papers" then.

Me: - .... No.

Her: - What do you mean, no? You married him to be able to stay in the US, right?

Me: - No.

Her: - Wait, you guys are really married? I mean, like a proper marriage?

Me: - Yes.

Her: - Wow....

That's just so annoying when people assume such things without actually knowing anything about one's situation! Ugh!

I'm the beneficiary.

Want to know what's happening with your case? Here's the USCIS tracking page (get an account and see if the case's been 'touched'!). Don't get your hopes up though, some cases never even appear there despite being successfully processed.

Hello to all fellow immigrants/sponsors!

+1 June filer: Priority date June 10, 2013

Here is our story:

I, USC, submitted an I-130 for my wife on April 2012. In July 25, 2013, she was granted her green card after a successful interview with CO at US Embassy Paris.

BUT.......

During the immigration process, she gave birth to our child (on May 29, 2013). I cannot automatically transmit citizenship to my child since I have not lived more than 5 years in the US. I then submitted another I-130 for my baby girl on May 31. Her priority date is June 10, 2013.

On July 30 2013, I called the USCIS and requested an expedite procedure, since my wife HAS to enter the US before January 25, 2014 (or her Green Card will expire). Got to talk to a supervisor after the first operator was unable to process my request.

Supervisor was unfriendly to say the least. She did however take my request for consideration, and said that I would be getting news of my request through email.

It's been over 2 weeks and nothing... should I call them back? What's the best way to talk to a competent person?

Thank you all for your support and feedback. It feels good knowing that you are not alone in this JOURNEY. STAY STRONG!

06/10/2013 NOA1 I-130 Priority date (NBC @ Overland Park, KS)
07/30/2013 Requested Expedite Procedure via USCIS Hotline
08/15/2013 Sent a letter to the NBC/MSC regarding Expedite

10/15/2013 Case approved, Notice mailed

10/21/2013 Case shipped to the DHS/NVC

11/xx/2013 Received NOA2 hardcopy

Patience has NEVER been my strong suit....

I received my NOA1 45 days ago. Somewhere in this thread there was a quote about "average 36 days from MSC-NBC to Local Office". I'm not an offshore filer (even though I'm currently with my partner in Australia at the moment), so I would have expected my I-130 to have shifted from the MSC to the Albany NY local office by now.

When you go to the USCIS site, the MSC doesn't even SHOW I-130s as one of the documents they handle. And neither does my local office.

Are all the rest of the June I-130 filers still at the MSC (NBC)? Has anyone been shifted yet? Just WHERE are the I-130s handled?

Seems like I-129F filers are being shifted all over the place...

Thanks, Sukie

This Q&A between the NBC and an immigration lawyer association has been posted elsewhere on VJ, and I think this is a good place to share it too since it gives some insight to your questions above: http://www.uscis.gov/USCIS/Outreach/Notes%20from%20Previous%20Engagements/2013/May%202013/NBC-AILA-QA-2013-05-01.pdf

As of last August, the NBC's policy was to receive all standalone I-130's and then parcel them out to field offices. The NBC has, however, been working to increase its capacity, and they expect to start keeping petitions there to adjudicate themselves by the end of September. I think that means June filers have reasonable odds of not being sent to their local offices. My file hasn't been transferred yet, and no one else has posted in this thread to state that theirs has. I think many of us would benefit from staying with NBC, so this might be a good development for us.

It's also worth noting that NBC states it's working to get its processing times for I-130s on the USCIS site. Who knows how long that'll take, but it's nice to know they're attempting to address the gap in data.

Wow, thanks Boston-Heathrow! That Q&A session was informative (and not just on the I-130 front). I'm at the end of the line on the June NOA1 stats (sent June 27, but NOA1 date is July 1), so I figure I'll be last in line for either a decision, or any movement to a local office.
