Hi Everyone.. my husband had his oath ceremony on Oct 3rd at 1pm in Royal Palm Beach, FL. He was one of 99 immigrants representing 34 different countries. My parents, my daughter and myself all attended his ceremony and then my aunts and uncles and other family came over that evening to give him gifts and a surprise Congratulations Party. So now my husband is officially an American! Alhumdulillah! Please update our case! It was very smooth. We got there an hour early, and they had us all wait in the room where they do Infopass and Interviews. Then they told all guests to go into the ceremony room. Then they started sending in the immigrants by number. And my hubby was one of the first ones in. It took about an hour for all immigrants to show up and be seated, and the room was packed. Then, they had us all watch a video called Faces of America.. with all different images of immigrants who had naturalized. Then, they had us sing the National Anthem. Then they talked to us about what it meant to be an american. They had all the immigrants stand up and introduce themselves and what country they were from. Most were from Haiti or Cuba, some from Netherlands and France. But as this was south florida, most people were from Latin America or the Caribbean. So, after some time, they swore them in, and invited people to come up and take their pics. We watched some more videos and sang Proud to Be an American before the Sheriff came up and led us in Pledge of Allegiance. Then they informed all immigrants with children under 18 that their children were now considered Naturalized Citizens as well. Then they said the last step was everyone needed to update their status with Social Security but to wait about 2 months as the Government Shutdown would hold it all up. They invited all to register to vote. Then we all took pics and left. It was a nice ceremony. I am so thankful! Best of luck to you all! oops! lol I thought it was the 2nd today. My Husband is a DHS employee, so this shutdown has my mind a little flustered. But anyhow, thanks for joining the rest of us on this journey, and allowing us to follow yours as well. Hope you do something to celebrate, and again, congrats!

Thank you very much and you're most welcome! No worries about the error. I can imagine the frustration this "government shutdown" is causing you. I hope it will be over soon and hoping you'll get to take your oath soon too.

Hubby and I had a "celebratory lunch" right after the oath ceremony. We had a "potluck" get together with friends the following day and, I made (Pineapple-Carrot & Chocolate) cakes to complete the (celebration) party.

To everyone that have successfully finished their interviews and oath ceremonies, and/or have been scheduled for such, Congratulations!

Updating. Congrats to all of you who had your oath ceremony. Luxus, I don't think we'll be at the same oath ceremony. lol but I'm happy that you've already received your oath letter. Let me know how it goes,so I can prepare.

Hey it's a 0805 appointment...something tells me there is plenty of room left for applicants to get in....

By the way I keep on wanting to point out that if your IO was wrong about your Alien number and the pictures why would he be right about the oath ceremony date?

By the way I keep on wanting to point out that if your IO was wrong about your Alien number and the pictures why would he be right about the oath ceremony date?

You're right, but I feel like what he did (or didn't do) will delay my case. I really honestly do not remember signing my passport photos. Is that not necessary? We'll see, there's still hope until the 23rd, I suppose. Do you know if there are residency requirements once a person obtains citizenship?

That's fine. Same here... I'm not a big fan of it either but if it's a cake, I'm all over it. Lol. My cake... Thank you! I think best way to describe it is - it's quite addictive! We'd share some with our immediate neighbor(s) and they'd always "hint" us for more.

Hello! Please update - attended oath ceremony today in Milwaukee at 11 am. 211 applicants from 62 countries. Speech of a judge was very touching - she came to the US from Haiti.

Applied for the US passport later today at the post office.
