Myself, my husband and my two sons had our interviews on Wednesday in Boston.... we all passed! It was an emotional day.

Everything went very smoothly for each of us, but we were straight forward cases. We were seen at our appointment time and were in and out within 10-15 minutes. We were asked the civics questions first, then writing and reading part. We then went through the application question by question. My son had to add amendments for travel and for a speeding ticket.

Now just waiting to hear when our oath ceremony will be.

Hello all,

Congratulations to all of you who have already gone through the interview process.

My interview was in Newark NJ, last week on Monday September 23rd at 1pm. Everything went smoothly, the last oath ceremony was held at around 4:45pm.

I applied for my passport on Friday 27th and used expedited service, however i have not received my passport yet. They said 2-3 weeks, but I expect to receive the passport today or Monday. By the way, i went to the post office last week Tuesday and had to wait for one hour in line and only 6 people ahead of me, it was SO Annoying, those people are so slow, i decided to cut my losses and go another day.

When i check my passport application status, it just became available yesterday, it says the application is being processed.

So my question is, does it ever say when the passport is mailed out or does it get stuck at "being processed". I ask this because my mom's application of last year says it is in the final stages of being processed but obviously she has had her passport in hand for over a year. Also, even though i registered my email for updates, i was not emailed when the application status became available. Here, i must say that USCIS is much better at email notifications.

Dont wait for letter. Decision will be sent by mail. What does that mean?

I went thru this entire thread , reading, to find if someone had interview in holtsville and was kind enough to pass on the experience how the interview went and what was asked etc, In fact You also asked the same question before your interview if someone went to holtsville.

I was so keen to read your interview experience at holtsville, BUT you did not post anything about it, May i ask if you can P l e a s e post your detailed interview. It will be appreciated by me and others and it would help to prepare.

Wow, so I just checked back in to see how it is going here for everyone. It looks like the government shutdown hasnt affected things with USCIS? Looks like things are popping here with interviews and oaths.

My wife's pay, being in the Air National Guard, was $0.00. We had to take out a loan to pay the rent since that is our only income at the moment while she is at Ft Lee. The Senate simply abandoned the Guard and Reserve, even those who are on orders, away from home with families to take care of.

Glad to see USCIS is still going... God bless you all.

I kind of feel like this is going to be me as well. My IO was kind flustered it seems. I just remembered he actually omit the first number in my alien number when he was filling out some of the papers,and when I asked him about it, he told me it doesn't matter.

Luxus has already received an email about scheduled for oath and I passed my interview a week before him, and nothing yet. Hope you receive something soon. Did they offer you same day oath? I thought they usually schedule the oath within 45 days from recommended approval?

What? How could he make that error lol. I hope we really hear something soon

They offered me an oath ceremony on 8/16 but since we were going on vacay the following monday, I had to decline I called USCIS and they said I have to wait until after the 14th to have them look and see whats goin on

Hi Everyone.. my husband had his oath ceremony on Oct 3rd at 1pm in Royal Palm Beach, FL. He was one of 99 immigrants representing 34 different countries. My parents, my daughter and myself all attended his ceremony and then my aunts and uncles and other family came over that evening to give him gifts and a surprise Congratulations Party. So now my husband is officially an American! Alhumdulillah! Please update our case! It was very smooth. We got there an hour early, and they had us all wait in the room where they do Infopass and Interviews. Then they told all guests to go into the ceremony room. Then they started sending in the immigrants by number. And my hubby was one of the first ones in. It took about an hour for all immigrants to show up and be seated, and the room was packed. Then, they had us all watch a video called Faces of America.. with all different images of immigrants who had naturalized. Then, they had us sing the National Anthem. Then they talked to us about what it meant to be an american. They had all the immigrants stand up and introduce themselves and what country they were from. Most were from Haiti or Cuba, some from Netherlands and France. But as this was south florida, most people were from Latin America or the Caribbean. So, after some time, they swore them in, and invited people to come up and take their pics. We watched some more videos and sang Proud to Be an American before the Sheriff came up and led us in Pledge of Allegiance. Then they informed all immigrants with children under 18 that their children were now considered Naturalized Citizens as well. Then they said the last step was everyone needed to update their status with Social Security but to wait about 2 months as the Government Shutdown would hold it all up. They invited all to register to vote. Then we all took pics and left. It was a nice ceremony. I am so thankful! Best of luck to you all!
