i checked my status, it says

On July 19, 2013, your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was scheduled for interview.

They allowed me to have my biometrics even without my actual green card they didnt asked for the police report even i told them i have one but on the day of the interview and exam, it will still depend to the officer if i can take my exam or not unsure.png so i really hope.. so hoping that i dont need to get a new greencard $450 is too much. It was just in my wallet but when i checked 2 weeks ago, it was gone. Maybe i misplaced it or accidentally threw it along with my old papers.

We got a letter from USCIS Memphis field office in the mail today, July 20, stating the following: "This is to advise you that, due to unforeseen circumstances, we have had to cancel the previously scheduled interview on Monday, August 19, 2013 at 1PM for the above applicant. We regret any inconvenience this may cause. We will advise you of any further action taken on this case, including any rescheduled interview information, under separate notice". It was dated July 17, 2 days after the original notice that our application has been moved to scheduling for interview.

That certainly was a disturbing, anxiety-causing, confusing, and numbing letter....

removing brijo interview date.. That is odd, maybe they double booked that appointment slot or something. Hopefully it's not an issue and they reschedule your wife for an interview appointment again soon.

If its not a far drive to the interview, please try to go to that appointment. There's times when interviews get cancelled but if you show up they will still interview you.

There's other times when interviews get cancelled but the local office is not notified and deny your application for no show.

So, it's it's no incovinience to you..please try to still go to the interview.

If its not a far drive to the interview, please try to go to that appointment. There's times when interviews get cancelled but if you show up they will still interview you.

There's other times when interviews get cancelled but the local office is not notified and deny your application for no show.

So, it's it's no incovinience to you..please try to still go to the interview.

If it were closer I would, but it is a 14 hour round trip drive with a 3 year old for us, and rather costly too, so that option is something we cant do only to be turned back more than likely at the door. I had read online already that when this sort of thing happens some people still go to their scheduled appointment like you said and they get their interview. But the majority of those who try, I read, are turned away...sent home and told to come when they receive a new interview appointment.

I will call the military help line at USCIS first thing Monday morning and see what they can tell me...probably nothing. But I will check in with them anyhow.

I will also ask USCIS how I can guarantee that they wont mess it up for us worse and put us as a no show.

OMG!! 14 hours round trip drive?? That's the flight time from Atlanta to my country!

Anyways, I feel you, especially with a toddler it isn't a joke!

If you do not get a new interview date, make plans to attend but if you receive a new notice date before the 19th then you can skip it.

OMG!! 14 hours round trip drive?? That's the flight time from Atlanta to my country!

Anyways, I feel you, especially with a toddler it isn't a joke!

If you do not get a new interview date, make plans to attend but if you receive a new notice date before the 19th then you can skip it.

I just feel really depressed and powerless about it. When I was notified that we were being sent an appointment date I felt such relief. Then when the letter came cancelling it I was stunned. I wish they would let you know why it was cancelled. I thought about it all pretty deep, trying to figure it all out. When it was at Nebraska Service Center I was told first they were finishing up the military background check. Then next time they were still working on the name check. I was told it would be sent to the Memphis field office after that. I dont know real well how they do things there, but I would think that if they were doing the background checks at the Nebraska Service Center, they wouldnt send it on from their department to get an interview scheduled unless that was completed first. I mean, one office wouldnt release it to the next office until they wre finished with it, right? I mean, that is what they told me, they were still waiting on the background checks to be completed. Then on July 15 came the notice it went on to get scheduled for the interview. The 16th I was told the interview notice had been mailed. The 17th the notice telling me it had been cancelled was sent. And we received that notice yesterday, the 20th. And it came from the Memphis field office. It seems they scheduled the interview and then cancelled it immediately after. Maybe they double booked for that day and hour. Who knows...

I found this chart from trackitt that may be helpful to everyone. You can search for timelines specifically from your field office to have an idea of how long it may take for the whole process. Kind of like here but a bit more detailed. Looks like L.A. is around 150+ days. Just change the USCIS district office to fit your needs. http://www.trackitt.com/usa-immigration-trackers/n400/page/62

I've looked at that chart as well ...it looks like it's really a waiting game in Los Angeles especially after being placed in line for interviewing; could be weeks before we hear anything

Hi guys,

USCIS received my forms on June 21st, on the 28th they updated my case: "On June 28, 2013, we mailed you an appointment notice to have your fingerprints taken."

Biometrics done on July 15th. So far no updates on their website. Still "Initial Review" sad.png

My field office is Buffalo-NY.

BTW what is "priority date"?
