Hey guys

so I couldn't wait until my July 3rd scheduled appointment so on my way to work decided to drop by the ACS center in Oxnard this morning; the whole experience was very pleasant and lasted a little under 10 minutes :)

They didn't care I came in almost two weeks before my scheduled appointment,got me in without any fuss;

I can't tell if it makes any difference to do a walk in vs waiting for your appointment from reading other postings ; I actually wonder if the overall timeliness of the application has a lot more to do with how quickly you get a biometrics appointment scheduled because it correlates with how many applicants are ahead of you.....

Any thoughts?

Anyone else have any experiences of walk Ins?

Some ASC will let people walk in for early biometrics, other times people will be turned away and told to wait until the actual date. I've done an early biometrics twice during the immigration progress, in different states. Both times no questions asked, in and out in around 5 minutes. If you look at my current timeline for the N-400 process I went in 16 days earlier than my scheduled appointment, and received my in line date just 2 days later.

Seattle ASC or Tukwila rather, allows early walk ins.

Some places allow it, some don't, all you can do is try. You do need your appointment letter though, you can't do it until you've been scheduled for biometrics.

I did early biometrics for ROC and Naturalization in Charlotte, NC.

Thanks for the info, maybe I'll see if I can get down there once I have my biometrics notice. Now I've started the final steps, I just want to get it over & done with as quick as possible!!

I'll be trying for a walk-in tomorrow, granted my appt is next Wednesday. I've done this for all USCIS processing and they are really awesome. The officers know me by now and were telling me about their kids, asking about hubby, asking me about nursing school and showing me their "better than an iPhone" phone lol.

My BFF husband took me to the ROC walk-in since he had his military biometric in Dover also and was freaked when he came to pick me up and heard the officer and I "arguing" about why I wasn't carrying a suitcase-sized purse or fancy wallet and makeup bag. Dude is hilarious!

Thanks for the info, maybe I'll see if I can get down there once I have my biometrics notice. Now I've started the final steps, I just want to get it over & done with as quick as possible!!

Have you already received the biometrics letter? You have to have that in hand in with you before you go.
