Hi,

A couple things. sad.png

1. I received the AOS invoice on Thursday (7/13) afternoon. I immediately paid it. The money was withdrawn yesterday but it's still showing pending. Is there anything I can do to move forward (IE: Can i send the AOS now?)? I am doing Electronic Processing since my wife is Mexico. The e-mail receipt I have says the barcode isn't necessary but it doesn't say what I need to do either. :\ I was guessing they'll tell me via e-mail once the status is paid.

2. I haven't been invoiced for the IV payment. Is that normal? It's been about a week since I received my case info.

3. My wife's birthday & last name are wrong. The birthday was due to my mistyping something on the G-235A form, but the lastname seems like something on their end. Either way, I've sent separate e-mails to the NVC to correct the error and provided her passport biographic page as the evidence (as requested by the Customer Service). Will I have issues if I continue with the process before I get the correction notice from them??

Thanks and good luck ya'll!

1. If the money has been withdrawn, then you can send the AOS package. They won't tell you anything. You should be reading the guides (posted in post 1) to know what to do.

2. Have you completed the DS-261 online yet?

3. Have you called up NVC yet to see if the correction has been made?

1. Ah, somehow missed the Montreal EP guide. I read the other one but some things didn't apply so I wasn't sure. Now the AOS shows as paid. I just mailed the AOS data!

2. Yes. I called the NVC and they said they have to review first. Website says complete, but I guess that's inaccurate. :\

3. Correction hasn't been made yet...but the rep on the phone said I can move forward with the AOS and IV packet (when ready).

Got our NOA 2 monday. Now, As I fill out my I-864, I have a questtion on "my current individual annual income is" ....Ive been trying to find a solid answer on teh internet to no avail. Is it my income on my last tax return, or is it what i project to make this year? Either number is above the "povery line requirement", however my current income is quite a bit larger than my last year tax return(military, deployed for a few months). And if its my current income...before or after taxes? Or does it really even matter? I just dont want to fill this thing out and send it in and get an RFE requesting it to be re submitted because "this number doesnt match such and such"..

Thanks!

So anxious these days....we got case complete on June 13th and still no confirmation email from NVC! This waiting seems to be the hardest of all! I've been calling the NVC everyday and they said it should be coming soon....called the DOS and they said that our case has not been sent to Montreal yet. Come on people!!

Sorry, just had to vent to people who can feel my pain and know what I am talking about.

Best of luck to you all waiting like me smile.png

Nevermind someone already answered. oops8rh.gif .

Hi guys,

I'm applying for my husband's CR-1 visa, however, he overstayed his tourist visa before we've got married and got a removal and 5 years bar (clean records), our interview is coming soon, and his bar is about to expire (just 6 more months), do you guys think that I will still need a waiver? or do I have chance to get the visa without it?, Should I still bring the waiver with me at the interview day please?

great question ! what did you finish up at NVC already? (which forms, documents, fees)

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Here is minor detail question: For I-864 packet it is advised to write NVC case # on all pages. Should we write this with pen or pencil?

Also, should we do the same for all pages in DS-230, including originals of civil documents?

1. EP guides would be better suited to read for your case as that applies to you.

2. Complete on the online forms portal just means that you completed it. It bears no indication as to whether or not NVC has received it or reviewed it or added it to the casefile. You need to call NVC to find these things out.

3. Should be fixed soon. Ask about it everytime you call.

Got our NOA 2 monday. Now, As I fill out my I-864, I have a questtion on "my current individual annual income is" ....Ive been trying to find a solid answer on teh internet to no avail. Is it my income on my last tax return, or is it what i project to make this year? I just dont want to fill this thing out and send it in and get an RFE requesting it to be re submitted because "this number doesnt match such and such"..

Thanks!

"Current Individual Annual Income" is just like it sounds it: this year's income. Not last year's. And it's before taxes. So, if you're salaried, put your salary. If you have an hourly wage, do wage x hours per week x 52 weeks.

Here is minor detail question: For I-864 packet it is advised to write NVC case # on all pages. Should we write this with pen or pencil?

Also, should we do the same for all pages in DS-230, including originals of civil documents?

Either pen or pencil is fine. And it should be done for both packages. The only things you do NOT write the case number on are the bar-coded cover sheets and the cover letters (if you're including one, they're optional). For originals/certified copies, I suggest writing the case number on a sticky note and attaching that to those documents. Or, lightly write in pencil, so it can be erased later on.

Hey - thanks for filling out yer timeline - when I first responded to you, that thing was blank.

If you want to go the waiver route - ya gotta bring it to the interview (the I-601). There's also the new I-601A, which you could have applied for right after the I-130 was approved.

With the I-601 - it's my understanding you have to apply after the interview. Which adds more time .

With the I-601A - you could have delayed doc intake at NVC until the approval on the waiver came in.

So, 6 more months, you say? at this stage - I'd recommend do nothing, except to wait until you are assigned an interview date. Then, about 10 calendar days after receiving the interview date (ya need that lag for the casefile to be shipped to the IV Unit and opened) email the IV Unit and ask for a later date , to be 6 months + 2 days past the bar end date.

Sure, it'll delay more - but chasing a waiver takes some time, also - and I've not idea how long - people have written of 4 to 10 months - but I honestly don't pay attention to that metric. We've a waiver sub-forum here, you might want to look at that.

(gods - have I confused I-601 with I-212 or I-202 ? eeek)

I say do more research, hit those sub-forums, see whats what.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I ended up writing everything in black pen, except using #2 pencil on original civil docs. My coversheet has case # printed on it as part of the wording, and I'm still waiting on the bar-coded cover sheet.
