Hi there,

I thought I'd post our experience so that it might help others right now.

I don't know if its just the Dublin Embassy are getting strict or if it applies to all consulates.

My husband moved back to the states last year 2012 after 2 years in Ireland. Even though he had up to date tax returns, continuos US employment ( he worked remotely via the Internet here in Ireland) and made well above the property guideline, as well as lots of recent pay stubs I brought to interview this wasn't enough.

The lady explained that rules had changed since ??? Regardless of his income because he hasn't been living and earning in the states for the last 3 years consecutively they could not count his income. She said our 2 options were to show assets or get a joint sponsor. She recommended joint sponsor as it is more straightforward.

So we are in the process of getting that together and will send it into them. If we had known this we would obviously have just done it at NVC stage! Which is why I'm posting this here! If you're in doubt at all maybe include joint sponsor just to be safe!

Good luck everyone!

When did you send your DS-3032 email? I'm still waiting for mine to be accepted and hopefully get the IV bill soon too.

I resent the 3032 on 6/7/13 with "Superversior Review: Beneficiary's Name, Case Number, Second Time Sending" in the subjet line, and it was accepted yesterday, which was the next business day. I am sure if you do the same thing this morning, they could accept it by tomorrow. Just resed the same email you sen the first time, and change the subject line to the suggestion above. Good luck.

I just resent the same email for supervisor review. Never heard anything on the first one probably because my AOS wasn’t invoiced at the time I sent it, so they may have just pushed it to the side.

. I send first my ds230. They recieved it May 22 and Got my checklist for the Singapore Police Clearance on June 3,2013, They review it first. The AOS we send it late because we are waiting for some documents on his taxes. They recieved it May 30, as per my proof of delivery, operator will not tell if they recieved it. as i read on our friends in vj. They always tell 20 working days. i had hard time updating my timeline. Thats why its not update. Im getting an error everytime updating it so sorry. Edited by luisa1625

You either send just the most recent year (2012) or the last three years (2010, 2011, 2012). It's up to you.

My recommendation is to get tax transcripts. They're typically just 1-3 pages long, compared to entire tax returns, which seem to be a minimum of like 10 pages since you need to include the 1040, all W2s, all 1099s, all schedules, and all worksheets. This is why NVC prefers tax transcripts. Plus, copies of tax returns don't prove you actually filed them, whereas tax transcripts do.

Thanks!

I requested the transcript for 2012 and I will send the return as well. Do you think it might raise a red flag if they somehow notice I was tax exempt for 2010/2011? I worked in a country where I had that benefit, so I didn't have anything to file. Should I even bring that up?

Also, my AOS payment now shows up as received. Am I supposed to wait for an email from the NVC with further instructions or just get to assembling the AOS package?
