i suggest you not use postal mail to send something to any congressman's office. Why? There are extra postal security measures in place, so a delay of 2 weeks is normal. If'n you note I not mention 'postal mail' for a Congressman? That's the reason why.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Ah I see. I still intend to send it via email or fax when I get on the phone with them tomorrow...mostly likely email since I won't have access to a fax tomorrow.

Any thoughts on if it's worth sending an email to Public.Engagement@uscis.dhs.gov ? Thanks again!

Just a quick update and some additional questions...

I am still going to call on Monday, but I decided to mail the contact form to my congressman's office yesterday to get a head start since his office is not far from where I live. If I'm lucky, maybe they'll already have the form when I call...

I did some searching on VJ and found this post: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/426930-case-lost-between-uscis-and-nvc/?p=6234248 . They said sending an email to Public.Engagement@uscis.dhs.gov got them answers as to where their case was. However, this was the only post I could find where someone used this email address for this purpose. Any thoughts on if you think it's a good idea to send an email here?

I told my wife this morning what's going on and she spent our whole conversation on Skype crying. She's so afraid that our case is lost and that we'll have to start over. I tried reassuring her by saying it's probably at the NVC sitting in their mailroom and no one has touched it yet. I am hoping that's the case in all this...

. Your case is not lost my approval was January 29,2013 and uscis did not send it to NVC until April 16, 2013. And I think Im the longest one total 88 days. we just email Nvc research to check In ". USCIS when we call they ask us to wait 90 days. ofcourse its so frustrating. Darnel and Saylin are right to contact USCis using senators and congressman to fasten the processing inquiry of transfering documents to NVC. Just be patient and tell your wife she will be with you soon. As that my husband told me everytime assuring me everything will be ok. Maybe when I heard that my document is missing I was pissed and frustrated. but I just let it happen We waited. Now we are waiting Affidavit of support to be approved my checklist to be submmited and Next the interview. Because of that delay too Even I had Visa. I only can be with my husband after I finish my 3 months render notice to the company Im working.

hey everyone,

I got a quick question. I just got an email from NVC which says

"The National Visa Center has received all documentation necessary to complete pre-processing
of your case. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable) will be notified."

Does this mean case is complete at NVC?

Ours is showing the same message too. It might be caused by the maintenance? If it doesn't change by Monday, I'm gonna call too.

Hi Guys,

i called NVC this morning about this problem and they promised to fix it. I just checked again, and i was able to make my AOS payment. You can also try yours now. :)

Cheers!

Called my Congressman's office this morning and spoke to a woman that handles immigration issues. She told me to email her the case inquiry form I mailed already and a copy of the NOA2 and she'll start looking into it right away. She said it should not take this long for the NVC to receive the file and that it's probably something to do with the field office. I really hope she can find an answer soon. But it was nice to finally speak to someone that actually seemed concerned and wants to help, rather than telling me to wait another X amount of days.

Thank you and good luck for the case complete this week. You could call the NVC and see if they reviewed it yet. We actually got a false checklist on May 31st for the DS230 after they accepted the AOS.

We used the I-864EZ (OMB No. 1615-0075; Expires 03/31/2015).. I'm not really sure if thats a new one or the old one

Sounds like she knows what she's talking about.

And I'm so happy she was able to echo exactly what I've written about here, to you and about 30 others.

Chase down that I-130 - the local office has messed up, somehow.

You know she can't act until she has the signed release form, right? print it, sign it, scan it, set up as file attachment in an email. in the body of the email -- give all biodata on you and yer spouse plus uscis receipt #, and a detailed description of the problem. If you write that your main concern is that the casefile was tagged for NRC movement instead of NVC movement, that, IMO, will get the fastest 'action' by the ILS rep.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

How many years of tax returns do these people really need? All three?

If your most recent tax return is well above poverty level, that may be sufficient. If not 3 most recent "tax return transcripts" would be good enough.
