RGinWA - ya, i understand your point of view - it's just that it's not MY point of view.

No worries, there, at all.

Agreed...:)

Really? So this is saying that women are unable to control their birth control. So let me throw out options for the poor uninformed and less than intelligent women and the clueless doctor...

Shots

Implanted Birth control

IUD

Diaphram

morning after pill

buying their own condoms

Saying "NO"

Never fails to amaze me how much feminists hate women.

Did you even read the article? The doctors are working with the women to provide them with birth control options that THEY are more fully in control of. This includes your cited shots, Implanon and IUDs. Morning after pills are also cited.

Diaphragms can be removed by a partner. Buying their own condoms will only work if the male partner consents to wearing one. And saying no? Again, DID YOU READ THE ARTICLE? These are women in precarious domestic situations.

I got shouty there because you like caps.

this sort of thing happens to women in relationships that are already abusive. it isn't about the man wanting to procreate or force a woman to have his child so much as it is his need to control her. it's a means to sabotage self respect making an already weak person more vunerable and reliant on the abuser. women are easily guilty of the same behavior.

Or to perhaps "keep her at home"

generally speaking, in abusive relationships, that's already been done to a certain extent. usually, one of the first things that go are friends and family. maybe a few 'safe' friends and family remain.

Maven(The) - hang on a mo - I get the gut feeling that Nature Boy went through the entire labeling of genus and specie -

ie -

not many feminists are wing bats

not many feminists are morons

so it's a very small grouping, out of all of the feminists, for the

moronic winged-batted feminists population count.

I say relax - is quite possible he did not mean ALL feminists...

I could, of course, be dead wrong, as well.

You are wrong. Not all most.

Lets balance this with the women who actively attempt to get pregnant without the man's upfront agreement. (Other than agreeing to have sex)

In this idea of coercion what's the upside for the man, the actual reproduction of an offspring...and of course the inevitable child support and custody battle?

I haven't met any men who desperately wanted to procreate with a woman who was trying to avoid pregnancy. Does it happen, I'm sure it has...but it's also happened in reverse more often in my experience.

Not sexist, based on personal observation only.

Just my two cents...

You dead on balls accurate.

So having sex with your partner doesn't come with some inherent risk of pregnancy all by itself?

Poking a hole in a contraceptive isn't domestic violence. Wanting to have a child isn't a DV act, even if expressing that desire with an unwilling partner doesn't fall within that designation. The only act that is DV is actual threats or emotional abuse to obtain the pregnancy. That goes both ways.

In short, if don't want to get pregnant, stop having sex or find a sterile partner. Aside from that, it's always been a risky endeavor, so don't blame the swimmers finding the egg...that's what they do.

If your partner wants a child and you don't...how about you both finding a more compatible situation?

Can you imagine some poor slob , who wants a baby and the woman does not. He keeps trying to talk her into, they have an argument about it, then he comes home one day and the Po PO is waiting on him, warrant for domestic abuse.

As bizarre as that sounds in today's world it would not surprise me.

and has the feminazi left not just spent a whole election cycle demanding a woman have control over her reproductive choices and that it be funded.

No we here, she is not smart enough and those ####### men have been tricking her into being pregnant.

So those sneaky men having been removing women's diaphragms without them knowing. Please explain how that works.

I say give em all touch-tasers. and a small pack of long zip-ties.

IMO, reproductive coercion is rape.

WORD.

If a woman pokes holes in my condom, lies to me about being on the pill, being infertile, or lies about other forms of birth control or works me over when I've had a little to much to drink - all in an effort to get pregnant when she knows that is not what I want... She is not a rapist she is just a manipulative b****.. I would get no sympathy here if she did get pregnant (and rightfully so). I would be told I should have thought of the consequences before dipping my wick. You don't make the crime worse by assigning it a harsh word, you just further diminish the word.

If a woman stays with a man that she knows is doing manipulative things to get her pregnant and she chooses to stay with him then she is stupid... No sympathy. She needs to leave him - I hear that 84% of men do not pull that #######.

I don't believe it.. Prove it to me and I still won't believe it. -Ford Prefect

Do you doubt that it happens? Clearly it is an issue if health professionals are beginning to counsel patients. Does this mean that men doing this are worse than women doing the same to men? Nope. Regardless of gender, this behaviour is despicable.

I am glad you agree that it is equally wrong either way. That didn't stop our court system from making an ex GF of mine richer by over a quarter mil after she used some dishonesty and subterfuge to defeat a barrier contraceptive!

Men have only a couple of choices other than abstinence. Vasectomy is usually permanent. And condoms have significant drawbacks, including latex susceptibility to non water-based vaginal lubricants! So is it DV against a man if such occurs? And if she is guilty of such a heinous crime shouldn't he have a very good case for sole custody?

Yeah, I didn't think so!

Our differences are simple, Maven. I believe women are clever, intelligent, capable and in control of themselves...you do not. I love women and think they are independent. You think they are subservient to men.

If they are in precarious situations...leave.

The article is not important, the premise is. Women are in control of their bodies. I believe that, you don't. You think men are in control of women's bodies and women are unable to make choices.

You are wrong. Try to give women a little credit, Maven. They are are not such dumb bunnies.

personally, i believe such deception on the part of a woman should be looked at when it comes to the care of the resulting children. i don't know how one goes about proving such a thing occured, but male or female, this sort of manipulation is abusive.
