What are the correct questions? And if it id on a officers desk what's taking soo long...is there a higher person in charge I should be asking for?..help with the right questions guys...:-(

The only person I think that can help you with that is going to be the supervisor of the 130 unit.

I wouldn't expect much in terms of answers.. there is no way to know what kind of work load the officer has that is adjudicating your file.

The good news is your file is being worked on.

I would also ask if there are any RFE's that have been generated or if there is any additional information they can give you. They have a half dozen screens they can look through for additional information.

Your office is busy, but looks like you should be complete soon.

ask for the I-130 adjudication unit supervisor.

Once you get that human, ask:

1. has my casefile been assigned to an adjudicator yet? if yes,

2. how much longer will it take for my casefile to be adjudicated?

3. what is your normal turn around time from approval to send-out to NVC? I know you have to scan stuff into the A-File - how backlogged is the records unit on doing the scanning, currently?

4. You know the case is to go to NVC, right? My spouse is not chasing after 'adjustment of status' in the USA, so please DO NOT SEND my approved petition to the NRC.

ask those questions, as that stuff seems pertinent (at least to me) for what's what, with your casefile, at the local office.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

hey darnell..

when I went to an infopass this past week, I found out that NRC is the tagged file location inside the office where the file was processed, it is not actually sent out to another office... just an fyi, I know you are very well versed all the way around

stevie-b ya- i read your stuff recently - good on ya !!!

the problem I have with NRC, though - is that it's the storage location normally used for AOS and I-130 petitions filed by permanent residents.

It's cool you found a sub-unit inside the local office, no worries there - I'm talking/writing about the BIG NRC office where the casefiles are warehoused. After I-130 approval, a casefile can go to either NRC or NVC.

What yer saying, if I'm reading this right, is that the NRC sub-unit there at the local office is used for temp file storage ....

I'm not sure about the warehouse part, but when the officer said, "oh my I see it was sent to the national records center" I of course replied omg please don't tell me that.. she responded.. don't worry, that just means it is here in another room. either way I now have started the omnibud complaint, a congressional consent form and about half a dozen emails to different oversight agencies within the organization.

With that being said.. I am done hi-jacking this post :)

What is nrc guys?...

National Records Center. It's a bad place for approved I-130s to go, if'n the petitioner is a USCitizen and is chasing an immigrant visa for a foreign spouse.

You want it to go to NVC - The National Visa Center, instead, so's you can handle the further Visa Application Doc Intake and fee payments.

I stopped asking why a long time ago.. now it's just about trying to understand what needs to be done to get the ball rolling.

I guess the only good news is that it is not lost and my guess is that this rear room is some kind of document staging area for consolidation and then forwarding out in batches.
