Today i got the NOA1. How long does the whole Fiace(e) Visa Process takes in total? What is the Maximum amount of time does it take for my Fiance(e) to enter the US? Only I know how am i living without her each minute and each seconds. Please Advise. Sorry, i forgot to introduce my self to you all. I am Jignesh.

Hi Jignesh, welcome to the boards! I hate to tell you this, but you've probably got a good six months to wait, and that's if you're lucky. :( I got my NOA1 from CSC back on December 7, 2005, and I'm still waiting for the approval.

It took us 5 months minus 1 day from filing to my interview. You have a bit of a wait ahead of you.

2005

Sept 10 I-129F sent to TSC

2006

Interview - February 13th APPROVED! day 152

April 6 - wedding date day 204

Aug 22 - AOS interview date day 101-total days 342

Sept 29 - green card arrives, done until June 2008 day 140-total days 381

2008

June 30 - I-751 mailed total days 1025

2009

March 9 - Removal of Conditions approved! total days 1277

The process takes a different amount of time for everyone, some have gotten it in 3 months (pretty rare) and some have waited probably close to or over a year (pretty rare too). I hate to make a guess but I'd say 4-6 months on average, but even that is my opinion! You can look at the top of the site for the Immigration Timelines link and see averages for different service centers and embassies waiting times. California right now is taking awhile, we got our NOA2 in about two months. I don't know about India, you can ask over in the Foreign Embassy forum.

Best advice to give you is patience and frequent visitation of the VisaJourney website. This place is full of a wealth of information to answer questions before you even have to ask them. Perhaps you'll find the days flying by more quickly with all the informational gathering.

it takes how long they want, i think...

there are people that got the 2noa with 1noa dated in december but i see people that got the 1st noa in november and has nothing yet from uscis.

maybe 6, maybe 7 maybe 9 months...

only God knows...

Hi and welcome!

If you click on "India" under your name, you'll be able to see other people who arew going through there and have a look at their timelines to see how fast/slow India are processing.

As others have said though, it does depend on your case...any issues or is it straight-forward?

You can also look at the general timelines for a K1 visa here.

And keep in mind what Rebecca says..."How long is a piece of string??" There really are no hard and fast rules to this process, just be patient and take every day as it comes.

My Fiance is in India, and she does not speak any english. When the time comes for her Visa Interview. DO they How can she interview with someone that speaks the same language as her? Do i have to let the USCIS know, to interview her in her language? I do speak as same as she does also. ( in our Language).

Welcome to the forum! My wife is also Indian and recently came over on a K1 visa. I filed the I-129F petition in Aug. 05' and she had her interview on Jan. 12th. I went through Texas and got transferred to California like yourself, so you can check my timeline for reference. My wife's interview was in Chennai and went very easily. Which consulate are you going through?

If you have any questions or need advice, please let me know. I know the wait to be with your loved one is difficult, but it is worth it when you are finally reunited :)
