hello, i do have a clarification regarding this. can we attend the CFO without the passport (i believe that they issue the passport with the visa after a week or two)?

oh and i noticed we have the same interview date. i hope to see you there! :)

Yes you can attend without your passport BUT you will need to return to any CFO location to have your certificate affixed to your passport when you do receive your passport before you can leave the country. CFO locations Cebu, Manila and NAIA airport. Follow the twisting arrow and use the tab "CFO" for further instructions and information concerning the CFO. It's in my signature below.

I think there is a misunderstanding. You can take the seminar without your passport but before you leave the country you will have to return to one of the CFO offices to have the sticker attached to the passport. You with me?

yep. i understood. i just thought that they won't let you attend the seminar if you don't have your passport with you.

i understand that you need the sticker attached to your passport before you leave the Philippines. either you get the sticker the same day as the seminar or you come back for it (or get it in NAIA).

and thanks for the clarification. :)

Is it a bad idea to schedule a flight on the same day of the CFO seminar if the seminar is held in the morning and your fiance is planning on flying out the same evening? Say the seminar is at 0900 and the flight is scheduled for 1730? Will she have enough time to get the seminar stamp and make it to the airport? Thanks in advance :) Juan

Ha, you sound like a gambler Juan.

What would you do if CFO says you're missing some document? Can you deal with all the headache and change fees of making last minute travel changes, then the hassle of rushing whatever document you're missing (remember, this is philippines bureaucracy we're dealing with), and keeping your travel plans on hold until you're cleared?

My plan is to go to CFO to get the seminar document, then visa interview, then wait for visa, then only have to get the sticker at manila or naia (maybe the day before?).

Others here will say get the interview and visa done first, then only go once to CFO to get the seminar and sticker. I prefer to front load as much as possible to catch the unexpected gotchas that seem so common in the Philippines.

Sorry, I didnt read the whole thread... Ive read that required age to attend is 20-59 years old.

My dad is a senior citizen now 65+, Is he still need to go over there and get the sticker? if not.. He is cleared to leave the country correct?

Thanks!

He must go to CFO and register and get the sticker placed in his passport in order to depart immigration at the airport. He will not be attending any seminar's just the formality of placing the sticker in his passport.

She needs to get to CFO quickly to get the sticker. I'm sure they will review your passport document and then issue the sticker in her visa. Just be sure that she tells everyone about her dilemma in catching her flight or someone will take there sweet time and she will miss her flight.

Why are those people making it so hard? I heard they will even ask for the birth certificate of the fiance (petitioner) ?

Would photocopy of the passport be sufficient? Typical Philippine gov't red tape. Instead of helping the people, they make it hard and complicated.
