Where did you hear about this "6 months" thing?

I guess she is referring to the Child Citizenship Act of 2000. It's pretty straigt forward: If you become a USC in November, the child lives with you in the US and has a green card, the child automatic becomes a USC by operation of law.

We actually had a similiar experience: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/431566-our-story-crba-for-our-child-denied-entering-the-us-with-a-baby-transportation-letter-and-citizenship-through-the-cca/

Right. I don't see "6 months" mentioned in the Child Citizenship Act of 2000.

I understood that the parent will be a US citizen in 6 months. For the CCA there is no wait time. The underage child becomes a citizen when the parent completes naturalization. There is no adjustment of any status necessary in this case.
