My K1 applicant fiancee and her K2 applicant son passed the medical today (Wednesday). Her interview at the U.S. Embassy is next Tuesday morning.

If she passes the K1 interview, will they keep her passport while the K1 visa is processed and delivered?

If they keep her passport, then she will have to wait until it is delivered back to her with the K1 visa documents.

Maybe she should try to go get the CFO training done immediately, or does the CFO process require for her to possess both her passport and her newly issued K1 visa?

It took 8 and a half months to get our petition approved. Things are moving much faster now, and we are still looking for ways to eliminate delays.

thanks to all who reply.

She can do her PDOS now if she wanted to. But she will only get the certificate. And she will be coming back to get the stickers once visa is on hand. So with this, i suggest that she rather wait to get her visa delivered before attending the seminar so she could save time and effort of going twice at CFO. If she has the visa and attended the seminar, she will both get the certificate and the sticker on the same day. Goodluck on their upcoming interview!

If they can get CFO completed before the interview that would be good and you all would be ahead of the game. CFO wants copies of the bio of pages of both passports and I believe you need to show them the passport as well. The embassy will keep the passports after the interview.

Once you have the passports back with the visa affixed you can swing by CFO with the certificate and get the stickers.

Since VJ didn't bother to mention about this CFO deal, what else do we need to do before we get the visa that also isn't mentioned on the FLOWCHART???
