Again I agree with jdseidel's theory. It makes sense not to give adjudicators one case at a time but rather by stacks, otherwise each time they finished a case they'd have to go pull another. Although that would make things go in order in terms of review (doesn't mean approval would come in order, though, as some cases are harder than others), giving them boxes of cases means they can go from one to another without taking time to go get the next case.

I'm new to VJ and to this process but I would have thought they would have divided petitions as they came into the centers and only assigned certain types to certain reps. If they took only I129Fs and I130s out and transferred a bunch to TSC like mine, wouldn't they have had to do that either when they came out or when they were going to transfer them? Then they would only need to train some staff at TSC on how to process instead of everyone.

I did check a bunch before and after mine as well and most weren't fiance petitions which I was hoping meant it would happen sooner if only the fiance visas were transferred. If they are all intermingled that makes me less hopeful for quicker turnarounds as the newly trained TSC members aren't getting used to doing them with several a day - they may only have one here or there.

ugh this process is so frustrating. sad.png

I don't know for sure if the non-family petitions before and after mine were transferred to TSC, but I was told by my congressman that ~7000 petitions were transferred and they included more than just fiance and spouse visas. So unfortunately, you're petition is likely in a stack with many different types of petitions. It is frustrating, but you have to be encouraged by the recent progress. There was a 2.5 week period without approvals or RFEs from the TSC and in the last 3 working days there has been a lot of action. Stay positive, your time will come soon.

I just spoke with my congressmans office and she told me that she never dealt with this type of case before but she is doing her best to find out all she can about where in the process my case is at. I hope that we get approvals soon.

just saw someone from VSC approved that filed in MARCH!!!! and had an RFE and was approved in 3 months.. smh

I wonder if they approve cases by the poverty of each country or political issues, I'm just trying to figure out how they approve these petitions faster than otherssss

I have checked many, many, many case before and after mine and there was only 1 yesterday that was sent an RFE(90 cases behind mine) and 1 today that has no info like you all were talking about yesterday. and that was 115 ahead of my number. SIGHHHHHHHHH

h_m and jds - thanks for the info. that makes me less optimistic if they are processing these at TSC without familiarity and without doing them over and over...each one would logically take longer. Plus if you have to do x amount per day, I think i'd take the ones I was familiar with, process those and make my quota and then pick up the less familiar type...if that's allowed.

I know we all have our timelines and stress without seeing fiances. I can deal with that - we have been lucky enough to see each other here and there and while it has caused a lot of financial setback, etc I can deal with all that. My dad's health took a turn for the worst this week and he booked a house for all my siblings to spend a week in August in the summer near him. My fiance has only met him once for a day since my dad does not live close to me - if he's not here for this, it is very likely the last time he would be able to really spend time and get to know my dad, especially with the rest of the family. :(

I realize other people have been waiting longer and have had children separated from their parent whch is just awful - I know my case is just one of millions. It's just hard not to have this latest health setback really put the stress on about these delays. Sorry for venting. :(

No actually it's 7 days you get your case number ... Then depending on what country your fiancé is from the interview date conf later on. Your fiancé still needs to receive a packet 3 ... You get a is keys 3 but calling the consulate with the case number the nvc gives you ... Do getting an interview date takes longer than 6 days !!!

Some countries don't do the packet 3 thing. For those countries as soon as they receive your file and enter into their system, you can call or go online to schedule interview, no need to wait to get anything in the mail

I noticed that there are only 4 129 petition before mine that were transferred ... One was just approved today that is 4 case numbers away from me ...could I be next????

I would be encouraged by that..hope it happens for you this week - I know you've been waiting so long. :)

I'm under the impression that cases from Haiti get some kind of priority (as in this case), but I could be wrong.

That must be the case because there is no other explanation..

Thank you for sharing that personal story with us...it is awful being separated from our loved ones.

My fiance never got to meet my father, as my Dad passed away 3 years ago, and i so wanted my Dad to walk me down the aisle and see me happy and be married. This thing makes me very sad.

I know in my heart that my Dad will be there with us when we are married and he will be happy and i will feel him with us on our special day when that time comes.

Just wanted to chime in with your personal story Jeannie&Al...

May GOD bless you and all of us here in visa journey.

We all need to vent every now and then. I'm sorry to hear about your dad - I hope things get better soon and that you'll get your approval soon too!

My info is just a theory, but from an organizational standpoint it makes sense to me that they would do it that way. I remember one of the posts with a Q&A from a former USCIS adjudicator indicated they do boxes at a time too. Hopefully, though, within those boxes they go in order, but I suppose there's nothing to stop them from not going in order.

The distance and time apart really does suck. I'm just trying to stay as positive as I can because my fiancee is having a harder time dealing with it than I am. The recent wave of approvals has me hopeful again that approvals/RFEs will come soon (yes, I'd even take an RFE right now). If VJ is ~6-7% of the total and we had 6 last night it bodes well.
