Some of you posted over the weekend about USCIS working weekends. I saw this link posted on VJ last week and thought I'd share it. Apparently a former Nebraska Service Center employee (back when NSC processed I-129Fs) went through the fiance visa process and hosted a Q&A right here on VJ. He said that basically, USCIS employees work 40 hour weeks but there is some flexibility. Some employees are given the option to work from home and log whatever hours they want so long as they add up to 40 at the end of the week. This might explain why some people have seen weekend approvals. So as a general rule of thumb, the USCIS offices are closed on the weekend, but some employees might work cases from home if they need to put in some hours over the weekend.

Hi Everyone, I am a new member here and found this site when I googled "I129 Transfer from VT to TX" My Visa was one of those transferred from VT to Texas. I was so happy late in May when after months of hearing nothing to be receiving text messages, emails and finally the deflating letter that my case wasn't nearing approval...it had been moved.

Angelina, I am also from CT and called Blumenthal’s office Friday. I am still waiting to hear back from his office via email.

I have a question, where are you all seeing approvals being made by various offices? This must be a website I have not seen yet but I would love to start tracking the Texas approvals when they begin.

My fiancée has a low A- alien registration number and my case was received in VT on Dec 12. The status update online said that at this stage of the process they are performing background checks. I suppose that is the same auto generated message you all received.

Thanks for this great site and good luck to you all this week!

Chris

Question

I noticed that there was a thread in this forum about someone recieved approval but not text or email... It wasnt until he recieved his CASE NUMBER in the mail and then checked his receipt number on the gov site that he realized he was approved! Got me thinking....

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/435100-k-1-approved-53113-at-uscis-no-txt-no-noa-2-no-website-update/

OUR last update says that we will be notified by mail.. is this different than the VSC.. maybe Texas cant update our files online and we need to wait for snail mail to see if we are appoved???

Thoughts???

Going to my local office today! smile.png

Good luck! When I went they could only confirm that my file IS in Texas and they put in a service request...

Please let us know how it goes...

Quote from that link - "Why is Vermont so much faster than the other centers (especially California)?"

LOL

Oh and my fiance (Alzaire on VJ) sent a strongly worded letter to the CIS Ombudsman last night to the new correct e-mail address, and our congressional liaison said she had contacted the congressional liaison department at TSC and she will get back to us as soon as she hears anything.

Haha, keep in mind he wrote that back in 2003 when apparently approvals sometimes only took a few weeks. Since then, they eliminated two service centers from processing I-129Fs and now we have to wait a minimum of 5 months. They should train the local field offices on family visas and have them processed there. That would make this process so much quicker.

Angelina,

i was just looking at my 2 NOA's that i received and the first one for VSC does not say anything about how we will be notified. AND the 2nd NOA from Texas says "that office will notify you of subsequent action taken on this case".

So, im thinking that anything goes in our case Angelina, we could be notified any way. We need to keep positive.

Isn't tomorrow(tuesday) the day to contact back to your senator and see about your case? That office seemed to think you would be approved before tomorrow...we still have many hours left in this day, who knows, anything can happen!!!!

Carol
